I'm so pleased to say that the Military Wives Choir has reached Number 1 in the UK today...as it should be, the fastest selling single in 6 years and all proceeds go to The Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen Families Association.
My little boy will be home soon and we get to have Christmas today so... I'm a tad excited and have got to go and do a quick hoover (naughty NAUGHTY kitties... baubles all over the place and a few feathers 'n fur <gah>) Naughty kitties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have donned my santa's hat and got me some music going...and I shall see you all later tonight. Off to the folks for Christmas Lunch with them and my brother and nephew... MaMa's cooking and PaPa's shining the wine glasses... so Merry Christmas crew

My two sons spent Christmas in Germany staying with relatives. Annie and Katrina spent Christmas day with me. The big sister and her baby sister always have fun doing things together.
Morning crew, back home again after a short but wonderful reunion with the family. X-mas dinner was superb and the weather was surprisingly mild. Today I will take it easy despite the big after X-mas sales which are on, I suppose that is the world over?

Ok, so we had so much fun today.
Little fella came home around 10am
and then we went over to my folks and…
PaPa was being his usual eccentric self
R-boy gifted S-boy a helicopter for Christmas. We have never laughed so much. S-boy has carried this tiny little helicopter around all day and we’ve all had a go (I had 3 epic fails and handed the controls back). Don't anyone ever put me in charge of a helicopter (OK... I'm being a little bad right now <slaps self> )
All I have to say on the matter – was S-boy had an even bigger epic fail…
It was bad enough he got it in my hair, but then he thought it particularly funny as he tried to get it flying again!!!!!!
The biggest laugh of the day (and of course, y’all have to realise that S-boy is just a wee fella) was when Grandma and Grampa gifted him a chair bed for when F-boy comes to stay… it was in a big blue bag at which S-boy exclaimed “Sheesh, you’ve given me a ginormous booster seat”… which had us reaching for the incontinence pads.
(actually, y’all may not know what a booster seat is – it’s a car seat for little kids)
<OK, doesn’t sound so funny when you have to explain it – but there ya go – we were giggling some>
So anyway – S-boy got a small dressing gown (we had to use a hammer to get the electronic tag off…. No no, I did pay for it… but I didn’t beep when I left the store) – he’s doing his BIG impression here!

PaPa loves a Port (ha! like Father, like daughter )– he got this bottle when they went to Madeira many years ago – the day he bought it, MaMa had her heart attack (no no, it wasn’t even an expensive bottle) – they’d been dancing and MaMa had ‘a turn’ – resulting in a triple by-pass on return to the UK…
I only see my blood-bro a few times a year – he’s had a tough year emotionally and to be honest, I can’t remember the last time I saw him laugh – and he NEVER lets me take photos… and even my parents always complain about me shooting… this Christmas tho – no-one got funny about my camera being in my hand!

Oh… and you see the book he’s reading – ahhaaaaaaaaaaaahha it’s JONNY’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY (thought Margo would like to see that!)

So, all in all, this is the first Christmas I can remember that was… memorable for the right reasons – in fact, it’s the first Christmas where my brother and I were in the same house for about… gosh, 10 years, if not more... It’s kinda weird being ‘normal’ – not something I’ve experienced for… years. Peace, ya know.
How time flies…
So… back home and here is what I found waiting for me

mr vw got hisself one of those helicopter thingies for christmas last week. he wasn"t getting much work done as I could see when I went to help him move a car, but he was having a lot of fun. I think he let his grandson take it home with him when they visited. the little guy was fascinated with it, it seems.
so very pleased that the holidays were pleasant tor you kids this year, mr vw wanted that I should wish you yabberers a merry merry.
I gotta admit - when S=boy goes back to school, I may just have a go with gadget toy!!!!
