@spendius,
<and breathe, Spendi>

Don’t need no money to jump aboard here, don’t need no jabs, no passport, no suitcase, no permission…

Quote:
Is it alright to talk about anything on this thread?

I reckon it must be, and anytime!

A song will lift
As the mainsail shifts
And the boat drifts on to the shoreline
And the sun will respect
Every face on the deck
The hour that the ship comes in

so said that man!

BEAgle – so glad you spent time with the family – hope you caught up on some rest today. Take it easy OK, angels orders ((((D))))x

((((Blue)))) xox

Well, maaaaaaaan, it was so hot here today – walking around the city; I so know why I have to live in the country! The sun has set and the sky is full of blue and pink – mighty pretty sunset I must say – simply the best.

Gonna be a scorcher tomorrow and the garden needs a major haircut. Babbling brook is trickling along nicely and it’s very peaceful out there.

Knackered tho – so off to put my toots up.

Thinking of those near and afar – lovin’ y’all ((Crew))

Be back later x

@McTag,
Ahhhh....my theme song. Love it. Smile

Have not seen those documentaries McT. I love those kinds of things...but I don't think I have even seen the TV this week.

I was told we have an audit in 2 weeks. Guess who is behind on some of their stuff? ME ME ME ME ME. A wee bit stressed. Deep breathing - a lot.

Of course I will get through it. I am trying not to look too far ahead...just onnnnnne thinnnnnnng at a time.

Take care of yourself Izzie girl. Rest well...hot here too. I like warm...but upper 90's is too much for even me. Cannot stand it. Makes me cranky. Wink
((Izzie))

((Dutchy)) Bet you will be getting up soon...hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs to all the crew. Going to start supper and work a bit.

@mismi,

Here's a feelgood vid. We are all indebted to Freddy.

Don't forget to play the out-takes too. A work of amateur art.

@McTag,
Morning Morning Morning Crew

It's hot already Shocked

Taggers - my favourite song and of course, my favourite pastime Razz

Freddy on a Friday!

oooooooooooooooooooo there's no stopping me.... i wanna make a supersonic man out of you lallaaaaaaaaaalallallalalalla.... if you wanna have a good time....give me a call lalalalllllllllllllllllalallal.... don't stop me ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
heh - no crew members were harmed during the making of that production - thasswhat we like!!!

Tall ships are supposed to be coming back to Falmouth. I.can't.wait! I would so love to be doing that again.

Yep Taggers - was watching Queen t'other night and singing rather loudly and badly as usual - but man, I love their music - real feel good factor. Did you see the making of the bicycle video - made I chuckle!! Fell asleep during Question TIme last night - no surprise there then - wish I had been at that one whilst they proceeded to discuss the care system in this country - make me sick they do, they know diddly about what it's like on the ground. Anyhoo - that's a "don't get me started" Wink

Missy - oh, nasty audit - I don't like being audited either girlie - you kinda have to look at it as a learning curve - our auditors are quite good in school where, we present what we do, they tell us either blah is missing or can be done in a different way. We're given upmteen dozen lists of providing evidentiary proof for this that and the other... and well, you do the best you can and hold your hands up if if you can't find the piece of paper - so much for a paperless office - I.don't.think.so. So far, we've had remarkably good audits - yes, I'm a stickler for paperwork at school (annoyingly so) but thank goodness we don't get audited at home - my paper stack is about a foot high... and I so can't be bothered - bills bills bills bills bills... ah well. Must do by Monday tho - takes me as long to go through the stack every time I need to check something, as it would to file the darn stuff. Mebbe tomorrow - today is just way too nice to be indoors Razz

You'll be good Dixie - be methodical, get the stuff in order (do they give you a list?) and they'll check what needs to be checked. If you fear them... heh... they will smell your fear Shocked - so bright and breezy, put kettle on when they arrive, few biscuits on a plate, be willing to learn if they point something out... and... believe in yourself that you're doing good a job. You do the best you can do, you know that - that's what you show them too.

Anyhoo - got heaps I need to do - half term's nearly over <how can that be already> and achoo... darn, still sneezing! Garden's gonna get it's haircut before it gets too hot - hoping the boyz will do the mowing.

one boy went to mow, went to mow a meadow... lalallalalaalllallala bless those little boyz - they just brought down 6 cups and 3 coke cans from the bedroom - yuk and ugh - gonna need to blitz S-boys room too later... heh, teenagers.

Lovin' y'all x

((BEAgle)) - not seen you this morning - hope you've had a good day darlin' x

((Blue))xox and yours xxx

@Izzie,
Enjoyed your post Izzie, Bosun has been busy running around with K and I shopping, they're now safely home after flying out this afternoon. I was proudly wearing her gold medal after their team won the tournament. She will be back next Friday for another match against Intesrstate opponents. Tournament finished just before the heavens opened. Will be watching the Tennis from Paris tonight, should be some exciting finals coming up. Bye for now, enjoy your day.

A quick cheerio to Miss Sunshine too, I'm sure you have nothing to fear from the audit, you're a perfectionist in the way you do things, and the auditor will recognise that. I'll reward you with a hug after he has been. Wink

@Izzie,
It took some nerve to make that speech and it inspired Willie Nelson to organise the Farm Aid tour. Get the money to those who grow food best. Hear hear!!

In case you don't know Izzie the preparations for the mass sing-song of We Are The World were taking place behind the curtain, Bob being top of the bill of course, and he couldn't hear himself singing. Hence it's a bit scratchy. But it's a great song as are almost all of Dylan's songs.

Does anybody know why this thread and the Breaking News thread don't appear on My Posts as do the other threads I stick my nose into. I have to go to the My Profile page and scroll down to keep abreast of all the exciting things happening on here. Which is a nuisance.

It's pretty hot here. 24 degrees Centigrade, 75 Farenheit and 297 Absolute. I'm thinking of taking my long-johns off and putting on a pair of those loose-leg knicker type undies which I hate.

And I'm glad Sepp Blatter was re-elected. More power to the genius. Those whining journalists couldn't run a fart lighting competition in a McDonald's.

@spendius,
Welcome aboard spendi about time your genius made an appearance on the "yabber-liner". You will note your sparring partner McTag makes regular appearances here. From now on you this thread should appear in 'My posts''. I agree Sepp Blatter is the man for the job, I hope he will be able to sort out the current mess. Back to the Tennis.

@spendius,
Hi Spendi - I think you may need to add a tag to threads - or you can click on 'my posts' which will show those threads that you've responded to

to make a tag, click on the thread, underneath the title is green wording saying 'tag this topic', add your own tag (ha, that could be interesting)... then if you click on your "my tags", up we'll pop... there can never be too much excitement in one day, dontya know Wink

I remember Live Aid well - it was an incredibly hot day and I was sitting in a car, in a monstrous traffic jam, on the way down from London to an 18th birthday party here... hotter than today... but today, it's pretty darn hot out there. Cammy shorts and T weather... yep, be rid of yer long johns!

To be honest, I don't like Blatter at all but that's because he comes across to me as being an arrogant and indignant SOB. But yeah, all power to those who need it. The Beautiful Game for me is rugby - whatever floats yer boat.

Pancake break - sugar and lemon - back out into the garden now, shade only methinks. Freckles gonna be popping.

BEAgle - haven't been watching the tennis this time around- well, I heard Andy had a fall - not sure if he's made it through but will give it a looksee later. Looking forward to Wimbledon tho immensely x

@spendius,
Spendi! Good to see you here. Take a look at your noise filter setting near the upper left of the threads page. You may be set on "filter noise". Select "all topics" and you should see everything.

Noise? Here? The yabber thread is hardly noise, but one man's symphony is another's cacophony, I suppose.

Happy end of week to all on board. It's going to be a hot one here today.

Thanks for the advice Izzie and JPB. I don't know how to work it though. I'm hopeless really. My solution is to contribute something every day so that Yabber-Liner is always on the first page of my profile thingy. Tags and noise filters are Double-Dutch.

Hey Izzie--you told us your age. 44 is it? Never tell anybody your age. When you are as well preserved as I am the advantages of it are thrown away. I don't do birfdays either. That's bad for you imo.

Test Match today--that's the game for me. Seven hours on the soaf for 5 days with a good book. Lovely. I hate frenetic activity.

JPB, Huh? Noise filter. Upper left where? What get's filtered? How does whatever it is know what I think is noise?

Happy end of week to you too.

Go to New Posts. Look right above the first topic listed. There's a blue bar with the options "filter noise" or "all topics". One of them is chosen, the other one can be clicked on to toggle to that setting. If your option is set to "filter noise" then there's an algorithm buried in the auto-hamster brain that figures out for you what you don't want to see. I think "filter noise" is the default setting. They were wrong in my case - my own topic was determined to be "noise" <harrumph!> - so mine is set to "all topics".

Right then--I've just been on two threads I've never been on before and three I'm a regular on. The new ones were the "what ladies think" and the " how do you give head to a guy".

All five are at the top on the My Posts page. But Yabber-Liner remains out of sight. Is this thread a bit exclusive?

@spendius,
Hey Spendi - I wonder if you have this thread as a 'thumbed down' thread - that would prevent you from seeing it in 'new posts'

The only reason I know that, is because I had a little hissy fit not so long ago Evil or Very Mad - asking the mods why a thread had disappeared from sight no matter what search I put in... I then, in one of my more embarrassing lightbulb moments at stupid o'clock in the morning, realised I had thumbed down the thread as it was making me feel particularly nauseous each time I saw it - so, therefore it had disappeared completely - proving that the system works - and therefore I munched much humble pie when I apologised to the hamsters having asked if they had selective thread deletions. Embarrassed

What a child - throwing a little tantrum I was. Who me? Never Razz Heh heh - nope, not 44, you're a couple years or so late on that one Wink

So, anyhoo, that could be the reason you're not seeing this particular thread. If not, I think it could only be the 'filter noise' as JPB pointed out above.

Exclusive - we're about the most unexclusive thread in the world - maybe just a pretty easy bunch of folk in the general yabber department.

JPB - good to see ya gal - just got in and picked up - figure it's hotter in Chi-town right now, but it's still feeling pretty warm over here. Would love to see your garden when you can - do hug the girls for me and tell them i love them and miss them. xx

Boida - need to go check your thread and see if you're back from Bellevue yet. So glad the drains fixed Very Happy Small blessings - wishing more for you. x

Tulip's here, gotta go

@Izzie,
Guess who's back on crutches? Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Was going downstairs and answering a question to Mr B who was still upstairs and stopped partway down. I thought I was on the last step and stepped off thinking I was going to be on the floor. NO - well, sorta. I ended on the floor, alright, but there was another step to go which I completely missed. I rolled my ankle on landing and then hyper-extended my knee. What is it with me and ankles and knees? I don't think anything is broken but both joints are twice as big as they should be.

Ice and elevation, crutches for a day or two. We'll see how it is after that.

grrrrrrrrrrrrr
