@Dutchy,

Quote:
Hi Mctag, great football match from Wembley over the weekend, did you watch it?

Yes I did, Hi Dutchy, we had a telly where we were so I saw most of it. I was well entertained and quietly satisfied because I favour the other Manchester team.

Marvellous match, a classic, played in a good spirit too, unlike the Inter-Barca semi.

@McTag,
heh - we're cross posting here...

Taggers - you sound so animated - d'ye know how good you are to read. Fantastic. Scenery has that effect. Music has that effect too - especially male voice choirs. I know you're not into Britain's Got Talent... but this fella made me cry - not just because his voice his beautiful - but his story is too - it's people like him who have been a part of R-boys life - one in particular was called AJ (he was a musician too) and he impacted R's life enormously. I hope he gets his dream but can also continue to work with vulnerable young adults.

love that Jai! <goosebumps>

Konnichiwa dudes.

He who laughs last laughs longest; unless that is you are the only one laughing!

Let’s be honest now, you all laughed when I said a while back that there were gas and oil shale bearing deposits East of Texas. Well, with my feet firmly planted in the world’s fourth largest gas field, the northern Louisiana Haynesville Shale I say, Ha Ha! Or should that be. Ah Ar.

The evidence was there for all to see as at three different times spread out by 100 million years, Texas was actually a shallow ocean that stretched up the central plains and even carried up into and through Canada.

The first 100 feet of ocean is considered the Photo Eukaric Zone since light can penetrate the first 100 feet. With light and heat being a factor in this shallow body of water we can assume these oceans had a huge phytoplankton and zooplankton population and with that, massive coral reef beds were created by filtering the massive plankton population.

This was the environment in most of Texas some 300 to 600 million years ago as the ocean came in and out at least three different times in the Fort Worth Basin. Believe me if you go out at night in some neighborhoods you can still see single cell organisms.

You have not been charged for this insightful information, but you will pay through the nose for the gas!

I should at this juncture mention that I had a whole heap of notes on who was doin’ what, but by the time the girls and I had gotten outta the hot tub they had turned to papier-mâché. Therefore relying solely on a memory shot to hell by a surfeit of the ‘bad boys from Boston’, may I…

Wish Tai Chi oodles of fun while she actually lives out her dream.
The three brainy Musketeers in the Missy household. Proving brain triumphs over brawn.
Bethie for being sweeter than icing.
Izzie for the sands of time.
Dutchy for being the true gentleman I could never aspire to be.
Johannes Winkelmesser (JW) Wandle for being an all-round good sport.
Brooke who’s strength of faith is sustaining and that has nothing to do with her being just too cute.
I could go on with Alex for always bringing a smile to my grizzled features.
Rocky for more pertinent lines than Mark Twain.
The ancestors of McTag for bringing us the haggis.
Roberta for her sprit in the face of adversity.
Osso for her forthright opinions at any given moment in time.
Veggy for the warmth of her journal thoughs.
Whoops, did I mention Missy and the infamous whipped cream incident?
And to each and all contributors; it is a pleasure to appear in the same space as y’all.

On this Memorial Day may I entreat you to remember not only those who made the ultimate sacrifice but also all those who were wounded physically and mentally, many of whom still carry those scars today. I would also ask that you also spare a thought for all the innocent civilians who always suffer in conflicts.

Thank you and God bless.
If you don’t believe in God, fear not for he believes in you.

I know you think my posts are rather like a drive-by shooting; a quick blast then head for the hills, so just let me say…

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
Far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Lying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
'Cause I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah
I don't wanna miss a thing

Heh BEAgle - ooooooooh, this song was written for our BlueBoy... dontya think?

One, two, three, four, five, everybody in the car so come on let's ride.....

To the liquor store around the corner.

The boys say they want some gin and juice but I really don't wanna.

Beerbust like I had last week.

I must stay deep 'cause talk is cheap.

I like Angela, Pamela, Sandra and Rita.

And as I continue, you know they're getting sweeter.

So what can I do? I really beg you my Lord.

To me flirting is just like a sport.

Anything fly, it's all good let me dump it.

Please set it in the trumpet.

Chorus

A little bit of Monica in my life,

A little bit of Erica by my side.

A little bit of Rita's all I need,

A little bit of Tina's all I see.

A little bit of Sandra in the sun,

A little bit of Mary all night long.

A little bit of Jessica here I am,

A little bit of you makes me your man!!!!!!!!

Razz

Well, ya know, he's a babe that Blue! Do so hope he's able2come back soon - but I reckon he's busy being fabulous somewhere, ya know, herding sheep or ringing the WS bell, pheasant plucking or snapping his briefcase. I'm sure he never misses a thong, thang... thing! Wink

@mismi,
mismi you should be so proud of your boys' academic achievements...great job!!

I hope all those nasty storms down south missed you and your loved ones. What a sad situation...so much devastation Sad

Brooke, that must have been so scary. I've been in my car with very small hail hitting it and it sounded like gun fire, I can't even imagine how that must have felt for you. I hope the insurance company is fair to you.

Dutchy it's so nice to have you back and on the mend. You don't seem to slow down much, going out and about driving around and going to net-ball games. How was the game? Hope you are taking care of yourself!

Izzie....I think you found the perfect song for Try Laughing

My school year is at the winding up point before it winds down for the summer. Crazy busy. H. just graduated from college, and has already started her grad level classes. She will graduate again next year with her masters.

N has just finished his season with the high school team, now we are down to playing on only one team again...phewww that was a very busy few weeks on overlapping teams. He did a phenomenal job playing and pitching on his HS team. He pitched the full last game. It went 8 innings ( usually only 7) his team won and he only gave up three hits the whole game!! I tried to upload a video clip of him pitching but I'm a forum moron and can't figure it out...so here are a few pics of the pitching action.

Hi Izzie. the day started very cold, 1 degree at 7am but that was followed by a glorious sunny day hitting 22 degrees in the afternoon. Mid winter here! Was great for the Netball matches, went to watch I play and she was so happy to see us. She played her heart out and they won their match. K is flying in tonight and both will visit the Bosun tomorrow at home.

Hope no more nasty nightmares for you and S-boy, say hi to Tulip when you see her on Thursday. Beautiful photographs of the flowers. (((Izzie)))

@Izzie,

Hi Izz
We're going down to Brixham on Sunday with the cabin boy's parents. We did this last year too, enjoyed it a lot.
This year, we are booked in to a trip round the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth...it's always been an ambition of the old boy to see that.
He was at the Normandy Landings on D-Day, getting tanks ashore, and later in North Africa, Italy, and Antwerp where they landed their tanks under heavy fire.
He should be an honoured guest at the College.

Well done to the Gurkha who got his medal today, for conspicuous gallantry.

@Izzie,
Is it alright to talk about anything on this thread? They "yabber" in my pub, which is just like I imagine a well appointed bar on a liner is, only it's just down the road and you don't have to spend a sodding fortune getting in, or having jabs, I hate jabs, yabs are better, much better in fact, or having to tell some government agent all about yourself in order to qualify for a flippin' passport with a little photograph of your flippin' ugly mush in it or pack a flippin' suitcase. My Gawd, in my best Frank Harris voice, how I hate packing suitcases. All that thinking about what you're going to be doing all the next week to distract you from what you are doing now. Which, I know, is flippin' well packing a flippin' suitcase (£29.99) but why would anybody be found in such a demeaning and ridiculous activity. "Did you remember the painkillers darling?". Fancy spending all that money and taking all that trouble and anticipating being in pain. I'm assuming the liner has stabilisers so seasickness is not much of a problem. And boat drills to remind you of where you might end up if something unforseen takes place. "Pray Mr Shandy, have you forgot the batteries? That woman at the newsagent slits the packs with a razor and takes the top 10% out of them all. "And the bar in the Yabber liner is stuck with the 3% to 75% mass produced lines in evolved magic although I will admit it will be tax free. And I'll admit that there's no deck to take a bracing walk along in order to admire the wide blue killing field. The last time I took to the water was on Rufford Boating Lake when I was paying court to a young virgin. I was rowing her around, like in DHL, in order to impress her and see if I could overcome her understandable reticence to get romantic in the best sense of the word. Oh--she was beautiful! I can remember her frock to this day. It was white and had pink flower prints all over it and pleated. It was tied up to the neck with a white lace the dangling cords of the knot of which played as she walked on the sensitive white skin of her exposed back. Partially exposed I mean. Obviously. Nobody was allowed on Rufford Boating Lake with a fully exposed back. The exposed part was in the shape of an arrow pointing to a spot midway between her size 4 feet when she was standing still like she was when I was buying the tickets and the Wall's Chocolate ice-cream which she delicately bit small portions off with her perfectly formed white teeth as I rowed over to the weeping willows where it was possible to get a private space for a short while and maybe cop a bit of a feel as long as I didn't tip the boat over. Which I never did of course as my physics teachers had taught me all about centres of gravity and that lurching in a straight line is the right thing to do. She was so beautiful and soft that the thought of my father being pretty loaded and her father being skint never entered my head. Nor that the other young women in her predatory circles called me Tony Curtis. I know better now though. We once got on a crowded bus together and we were separated due to her taking the only remaining seat, and before the conductress could collect the fares a crowd got on at the next stop and I got carried to the back of the bus. It turned out that she had not a penny in her little carrying bag. Not a bloody bean. And we were going to Blackpool for the day on the train after the bus got us to the station. I really hate it when I see women buying drinks for geezers. And it's commonplace now. It's absolutely bloody ridiculous. Equality!! I'd be quids in. btw--I didn't use exclamation marks on "My Gawd" because everybody knows what Frank Harris sounded like saying that after his fifth double of the morning, and exclamation marks don't do it justice. Have any of you ever read what Kingsley Amis claimed to have drunk in one day. And I have not paragraphed that because yabbering is best just running off at the mouth and new paragraphs represent a deep breath which allows the space for somebody else to start yabbering.
