@mismi,
So, I come downstairs after not enough sleep, eyes that need steaks on them <achooing even in the rain> - potter around for a bit, put 't kettle on, power up the laptop and read you Missy - and end up chuckling my head off - love you so much MzMis - I can honestly say I can cyberly hear you saying "heinous I tell ya" and "Excuuuuuuuuuse me!"
Woman, I would love to be around your house with you having a tipple after some cuppas!
Yep - I love Tesco deliveries - I'm not big on supermarkets and am a complete whus (coward) as I always meet people I know there - doesn't matter how big the store is - there's always someone I know ... and not people who I want to meet unfortunately (tho in saying that I always seem to manage to fumble my way thru the questions and sometimes, like with old colleagues, it's kinda nice to see them if I can just keep my panic under control) - I prefer my solitude and hermit lifestyle and not have to look at anyone.
Then there's the food thang... all that food in one place - eeeeeeuw... (ha, Charlie LOVES to go shopping anywhere, but not me), but of course, other than those reasons - it's actually cheaper for me to pay for a delivery (£3.50 today in a 2 hour timeslot) than it would be for me to drive to a supermarket. I don't have to lift or carry stuff or push a trolley with wheels that go in multiple directions and there's never anywhere to sit down and have a rest - when I flag, I flag!
Whenever I do go to a supermarket - such a little thing for others but such a gobsmackingly big thing for me - I struggle physically and with the delivery, it get's brought right into the kitchen (delivery men are usually very nice and only had the one dog-do-doo incident which admittedly was a nightmare - but 'it happens). Usually when people see my hands, they immediately go to lift the heavy stuff for me (I buy bulk stuff, ya know, like big washing powders and blah) - it's not that I can't lift things - but it does make life so much easier for me and the delivery cost is worth it just for convenience.
So yep, very lucky in that respect.
It's always a bit like Christmas for me too, waiting for a delivery - I order late at night under the influence of my sleeping potion - yes yes, JPB does try and stop me doing that - then, when the delivery turns up... wow, it's quite the mystical time when I see what arrives. There's often a few "ooops" and often a "what the heck is that"... but all adds to the spice of life, especially if it's some rather exotic bath oil - what must I be thinking when I was ordering?
Ha, and having now brought you into my incredibly mundane domestic bliss (ha!) - just how exciting was that - I shall go and put the kettle back on (sheesh - always having to order Earl Grey teabags - who knew! - but it's the one thing I will never run out of).
Gotta go and pick up the little fella from his PaPa's unless I can persuade his PaPa to bring him back - it's chucking it out down there - slow and steady today - but at least it's keeping the pollen down and boy, do we need the rain.
