@JPB,
That sounds like fun JPB! Yeah - I can't remember the last time I was "out" at 1:00AM. I would be moving slow myself! I like my sleep - that's for sure. Glad you had fun hun! ((JPB))

Hello there Dutchy - you smooth talkin' man you. Wink

And I see Tryagain has been visiting quite a bit lately. Missing us ain't you? I like coming on board and seeing you here Try. Makes it feel like old times.

There's my girl again - I was running down the stairs to the basement and felt something spring in my knee...and it ain't been the same since. I hate knee trouble. Had it in college from running cross country- have managed to avoid it until a few weeks ago when I fell face first ( I kid you not) down a flight of stairs (call me Grace) and it swelled up like a grapefruit. But got better - then the little sproi-oi-oi-ng the other day and I'm hobblin' again. Dangit.

It'll be alright. I believe it. Wink

Oh Grace....errrr Mis... you do make me smile - I CAN ACTUALLY HEAR YOU SAYING THAT!

Sounds like popped cartilage or summat... eeeeuw. Yep - iffn it's not improving, get yerself down to thee docs and sorted. It will be alright... may take a little TLC tho girlie. Have you got it strapped up? Maybe get an over the counter knee bandage which should stop it sproi-oi-oi-inging! Sounds horribly painful - sending you healing wishes. (((Mis)))

@Izzie,
Will take your advice Izzie, healing vibes on the way mismi. Smile

Yes I did watch the full match and must admit the better player won on the night. Andy's turn will come, he has the talent to do so but he must first ovecome his mind demons, so demonstrately visible during his play.

Not a good night for the homeland Izzie, your cricketers lost as well. At least you're bringing the Ashes home which is most important.

Heat is still on in my patch, 43 yesterday, 42 today, drinking plenty. Drunk

Hi, hi, hi! (((Miz Iz)))

Doing well here - no worries about my leg, I think it's finally beginning to heal.

Mis-- sending healing thoughts your way too but, take it from me... get ye in for an MRI so you can get some proper care.

Dutchy 43?!?!?! Yowser! I'm going to stop b!tching about the cold. It's easier to bundle up in a bunch of layers to stay warm than to deal with that kind of heat. You may have to remind me of this on Wed/Thurs when we head back below zero F.

@JPB,
JPB I live in the City near the beach in an airconditioned house so can quite easily cope with this heat, as long as I stay indoors near my bar. Different story inland where the temperatures are in the high forties. Our spell will last all week Izzie. To give you an idea, read the following article. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/01/28/3123818.htm?section=justin

@Izzie,
Waves to Izzie, Beagle is quite comfortable at home, but spare a thought for the people of Queensland, still under water and now being threatened by Cyclone Yasi some time today. You can read about it here: http://au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-/latest/8759255/lethal-cyclone-hits-category-five/

SITREP: Flight delayed due to ingress of ice particles - Damn this global warming!

Although it does give me time to say...

Hi Izzie, I guess you and I are the only ones at work today.

Wandel, when you next talk to your dear wife; tell her Kung Hei Fat Choi from me will y'ah!

I was somewhat surprised that when I recently alluded to:

"21st Precinct. It's just lines on a map of the city of New York. Most of the 173,000 people wedged into the nine-tenths of a square mile between Fifth Avenue and the East River wouldn't know, if you asked them, that they lived or worked in the 21st. Whether they know it or not, the security of their persons, their homes, and their property is the job of the men of the 21st. (Police Department, City of New York)."

However as all radio listeners know - There was no 21st Precinct Station in NYC. There was (and is) a 20th and 22nd, but no 21st.It was a police drama broadcast on CBS radio from July 7, 1953 to July 26, 1956. Don't we got no historians here or what!

Oh my goodness, what with all this talk of girls with their legs in the air - And so it came to pass:

Book of Amos (Prophet) Hebrew Bible
Amos 6:4

Those who extend themselves on their beds: for such is properly to extend the leg; but this is strained, and agrees not with what follows, upon their couches. I have no doubt, (points out here the manners of those who so heedlessly indulged themselves): "Ye extend," he says, "your legs and your arms on your couches, as women, accustomed to indulgences, are wont to do. But he will try to awaken you in a new way; his scourges ought to have roused you, but ye remain asleep. Hence, since he could not terrify you by his rods, nothing more remains but to Try to draw you forth."

Now I weren't much good at drawing; but if it's the Lords wish...

Whoooo, the annual Black History Month for 2011 has kicked started in the United States as well as Canada.

Winnipeg Free Press reported that the Historica-Dominion Institute, the country's largest charitable organization dedicated to Canadian history, identity and citizenship, is behind the Black History in Canada Education Guide.

I would like to appraise the gentle reader that In 1897, African-American inventor Alfred Cralle patented the first ice cream scoop. His original design remains in wide use, even today.

What I want to know however, is why is black history celebrated over the shortest month of the year?
Any of you honkys know the etymology of that word?

Yeah, I know some you are saying I chickened out over that storm; but someone had to head south just in case Missy needed a bed bath due to her recent equilibrium malfunction.

So, to all you Yanks, although I will never forgive you for hanging Major John André, may y'all stay warm and safe until the precipitation has abated.

Hasta mañana duds and dudetts.

Izzie

dayum, what a day in the world of weather!

Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!

yep, Iza been at work and then into the city for an appt and now lying down with my feet up, as ya do! Even learned how to "tweet" to follow some of the good folk of Australia Shocked Man, they had a battering.

Little concerned for our JPB right now - no news since this morning so I'm thinking they may have lost power. Keeping fingers crossed for her and the rest of the ChiTowners, Queen Dev and Alex...

very lovely to see you Blue Very Happy

Morning Izzie good to wake up to tryagain's yabberings, reading his remarkable sermons I have a distinct feeling he has to be a Rabbi, nobody quotes the Bible better than he does.

All well down my way Captain, hot but thankfully no winds like they're having in Queensland. Off to have my brekkie. (((Izzie))).

Was checking in on your temps Bosun - around 33deg there! Can't imagine, just can't, what they all went thru overnight... I can remember the hurricane we had here in '87, remember that very clearly - but that woulda been nothing compared to Kiss My Yasi! (now a Cat2)

Thankfully, we know HingeH made it thru and now it's gonna be eyes wide open for what damage has been done. Wondering how our Stormy is getting on too... oh my oh my oh my.

Then there's Egypt which is all our news is talking abooot... and now the Aussie ABC network is covering Egypt too

How many rods doth he have?

That is quite perplexing...

Hello Izzie...

Hope you got your chicken and are back home warm and cozy again. I am listening to quite the ruckus. These boys are so noisy! And then the dogs think they have to join in - so - well...it's just crazy.

My knee. It's better. Thankfully the time I have taken to stay off of it and give it rest has worked. It is much better. It still twinges a bit but I think I can safely say there is nothing torn. Just strained.

Is S Boy okay? What's the doc for in the morning?
Love you hun. I am so glad to see you here. I've missed you so much!

JPB - you okay up there? I heard it was the worst storm in Chicago's history - might have even broken the last record? Is that right? ((JPB)) You stay warm hun. And safe.

I see Rock is also snowed in. You okay up there in Kansass dear man?

((Dutchy)) Hallo you. You seem to be doing all right there - has it cooled down some or is it still hot? You drinking those Coronas for me? Wink

Where's Verbs been? You doing okay hun? I haven't seen you on facebook either.

Okay - I must run. Gotta go round the boys up and get them to get their baths..speaking of which...

I must say I am wanting to know what I bedbath is? It sounds interesting...
