@Dutchy,
We have the power to change that. I never ignore anyone.

We need to do more threads in which everyone can participate.

Poetry? dead
Music? dying

While under stress last evening, I wrote the worst poem of my life.

Photo's are beautiful. You can see yourself in every one.

Our Izzie and her sister are perfect examples of smiling even when they are stressed.

Hey POMcT – nope, no email updates here at all either. Have you contacted the hamsters at all? Hope the kitchen is getting dry and things are improving up in Macunian country. At least the weather seems to have calmed a little now – so, will just do a little prayer to the snow fairy for the New Year – love me some snow!!!!!! btw – how’s your bass coming along – playing much???

Bass coming along steadily, thanks. I have got a teacher who was principal bass in on of the northern professional orchestras. So I'm lucky to have him.

I play in three ensembles- two in the music centre on Saturday mornings, and on a Wednesday evening, I rehearse with a big band. ( A very competent semi-professional outfit, marvellous repertoire, but I'm not first choice for gigs yet!)
I play bass guitar with two of these, and double bass (Sat) with one.

Kitchen still drying out, still semi-stripped down, but no problems now thanks.
Compared to you, I've got no problems at all.

Oh, Iz. The good parts, that with the boots your feet have no weight on them, yaay, and the ankle injections helping, and FQ being there when you so needed her, all good to hear. And I do suppose your quads will be stronger after time with the damned boots.

Whine when you feel like it. I hope you can sleep more.

@ossobuco,
Thinking of you Izzie, hang in there and get over those difficult days first. Sending heaps of vibes your way, get back to the crew when you feel up to it. The Bosun will scrub the decks and keep the 'yabber-liner' on even course matey.

@Dutchy,
Hey there Yabber Crew.

Oh Iz...I can't imagine how hard it must be. Absolutely do what Osso says and whine - so good to let all of that out - it sure helps me.

Missy – how did the boyz get on with the Footie Championship? Did they win? More importantly, did they enjoy? Hoping you've had a good evening last night and that you may get your Sunday nap today. Love you Mis xxxxx

Well - we lost. It was a heartbreaker of a game. We actually were the better team. The youth football league commissioner said he had NEVER seen a better defense than our team in all his years there. It's true - we had a couple of mishaps - a thrown interception and then a fumble. That gave them their score that put them ahead of us. We haven't made those kind of mistakes all season - which is why we were the season champs. So it was hard to see the lesser team win. I know - I sound like a bitter mom. I am. Dangit - they should have WON!

Anyway - it is just a game. And we had a wonderful time with sweet friends afterwards and this morning. So I really should not complain. My boys are amazing...big hearts and willingness to play hard. It has been a great season!

Hugs to you all - ((Dutchy)) hey you Wink

See you all soon.

Great photos of Verby and family. Got my smile for the day.

Izzie, I hope you are able to get some rest. I am trying to imagine the frustration you are feeling as you try to manoeuvre around in those robot boots. (Had to look up how to spell "manoeuvre" -- I'm losing my mind...) Sorry to say your photos reminded me of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjvaqVAFuLI&feature=related

(Disclaimer: no actual Englishmen were injured by the harmless fantasizing I did while listening to it...)

C.'s surgery is scheduled for the end of the week. Needless to say she is often in our thoughts and conversation in TCville. Your pink thinking is going into overdrive. I have a Christmas cactus determined to bloom early. Can you say "fuchsia"? It's shockingly pinkly gorgeous. I figure it's a sign.

Working a lot of hours. And tired. Will try and pop in now and again.

(Oh, congrats on the anniversary, McTag!)

Hey Crew

Dayum, can’t get my head straight at all. Not that it matters in real-time, my thoughts are choking. Can’t even explain it but I need to find an outlet and start from scratch – won’t be here tho, it won’t make sense. Dark twisted tunnels, angry shadows. Maybe time is time.

Anyhoo... Murphy just came thru the catflap and I heard lots of games going on downstairs. He’s now perched on top of the sideboard in the hall peeking over the top where he deposited a mouse who’s run for cover underneath. I’ve put some chocolate in the humane mouse trap and hope that the mouse (or whatever critter it is) goes in there before Murphy or the Black Kitty Cat end up with dinner.

Right ankle swollen up badly, feels like it’s on fire, can’t wear boot at all; left arch feels like it’s been put on a rack and stretched –hurts like shite. From no pain where surgery was to massive pain 24 hours later. Crahp. Seeing the surgeon tomorrow evening.

Tesco coming shortly with bread, milk, grapefruit, ruby red juice, chocolate éclairs and salmon. Bunch of other stuff – ordered without the use of a potion – ha, under £60... what a difference Razz

Such an exciting life I lead. B*ll*cks!

Letty – sorry, you wrote such a lovely thing but I’m really not that smiley or good example right now. Thanku tho ((Letty))

Hey POMcT – playing in a Big Band a? That’s fab. Would love to hear you do that sometime. What kind of music???? How many in your band? Can you post a youtube of some pieces that your band play, that would be great. Of course, Big Band would be my favourite – especially after Ireland last year – there was a 19 piece there that I danced the night away to – distant memory that. Just superb. Oh... and everyone has their problems... yours are no less than mine, that’s the truth. Thank you for your thoughts... and yes, I smiled today Very Happy Thank you. xx

Osso – thanks, yep, did make a huge difference having Charlie here Very Happy I think I slept some... not sure when as the days are blurry at the moment – but I reckon I did sleep the night before last. Hope all is good with you and you are going to be with friends for Thanksgiving.

BEAgle – loved those shoes, you could just swizzle me around whilst we dance on the deck a? Wink Keep strolling D, keep tickety. X
Mis – ahhhhhh, bless those little fellaz. So sorry for them that they didn’t win – I know, it’s meant to be character building... but hugely disappointing for them. Sometimes S-boys rugby team get trampled... you know, like 50-0 – and their faces are just so hard to look at when that happens. Love sport – but you gotta be tough to do it. Glad you had a good time after tho with your friends – that’s happy Very Happy

Bethie – ha – always enjoy a pictostory. Gosh, I remember how Rainkeeper used to do that all the time. Thanku for that. How’s your snow up there? The East and North are due for snow on Friday... I’m hoping we will get some down here but it’s not looking too hopeful.

TC...Thinking Pink for you. Charlie brought me a beautiful orchid – so, here’s a few pics for your “C” in TCVille.

Tulip – glad you had a great weekend and that all is good with the kids and school. Xxx

MaMaVerby – nice to see you smiling, you sound like you are enjoying life these days, your photos on facebook are great.

Thinking of our Babbling and hoping that she, her Mom and family are OK... must be so hard, especially coming up to this weekend. (((Babbling)))

(Baz) - thanks mate.

Sis, i love you – hope you’re resting when you need to and getting all the Christmas stuff sorted. Bet you’re looking forward to your girlie weekend – you’ll have a blast – hug those girls for me. X

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie, what's bothering you, after affects of the anesthetic? I used to fall in a dark hole with all sorts of weird thoughts after my operations but after a while sorted myself out to what I am today, a grumpy old codger. Smile

Glad you haven't lost your appetite, Tesco's supplies shows you still have good taste, a sure sign you're on your way to recovery. So hope the pain will ease for you after you see the surgeon today.

@Izzie,
Hey you!

I was thinking about you this morning, wondering how you were getting along. Not so well, I see. Dutchy has a point about post-anesthesia blues being normal, but it's also a time when you're stuck with yourself in a spot that you can't escape from. Are you able to get out and about at all? I wish I'd thought of it earlier -- I'd have offered to ship M over to you to tend to the daily needs and help you get out and about.

She's home now and says to send you big, but gentle, hugs. I'm just hanging around causing trouble if you want a shoulder or an ear. Send me a ping and I'll call right away -- or understand that you're not up to chatting.

Feel better! I hope the swelling doesn't mean something sinister has happened.

GIANT (((((((( HUGS )))))))) from M and me.

@Izzie,
Izzie querida, Sorry to see that you're so down. Not surprised, just sorry. Not totally unexpected after what you've been through. Also sorry to learn that you're in terrible pain. Glad you'll be seeing the doctor soon.

Not gonna tell ya to cheer up. I think you're entitled to feel the way you feel. Of course, as a mega whiner/kvetch, I think people are entitled to complain when ooky stuff happens to them. No need to be up when you're down.

I've been thinking about you a lot. Hoper is still on high.

Great flower photos. And love to see the felines doing their jobs. Get the rodent. Of course you wouldn't have the rodent in the first place if the cat hadn't brought it in. I suspect it was a valued gift for you.

My late lamented Miranda would kill a mouse (I think the mice died of fright) and leave it for me in a prominent location. Nothing like waking up in the morning to find a dead body displayed on the living room floor.

I got side tracked. Forget about the mice. Feel better! That's an order.
