You've got TWO!!!!!
Yeppers, that's the exact-a-mundo heavy honking thing I've been dragging around with me for 10 weeks now. Lucky me, I've only got one. I can't begin to imagine how you're going to climb stairs with two of them.

I am to go down on my bahookie as it's too dangerous to walk down as my stairs are varnished.

Fortunately, I have enough padding in that region <cough>

Going up, it takes forever - I am walking exactly like a robot - you have to keep remembering to bend your knees and lean forward - they do do the job as my feet don't hurt in them at all, tho they do get a little hot - but as you know, they are sooooooooooooo heavy and cumbersome - right crutch forward, left leg forward, left crutch forward, right left forward - rinse and repeat. Ha, once I get in a shuffle mode - Ima cruising.
Yep Beth... thanks for the hairy eyeball - I will behave - certainly I can really feel the bones in the top of my mid foot if I do put my foot on the floor and try to weight bear. I know I have to wear the boots but it's gonna be awfully hard work and tho I'm not tiny little anymore like I was a couple years ago, my chicken legs are pathetic. I've got everything set up in my bedroom - ya know, the important things, kettle, tea, laptop etc...

and the same downstairs - I can't carry anything as I walk... oof, gonna be a long haul, so gonna have to make it as fun as possible - only way I know how - and heh, I do look so completely ridiculous that it would be impossible to take seriously. If they do the job, that's what they're for.
Unfortunately, my second toe has dropped, the surgeon mentioned it and beat a hasty retreat from the hospital room yesterday saying "I'll see you in 2 weeks"... it's very obvious, I can it underneath my big toe and after cutting the tendons under the 2nd, 3rd and 4th toes, they should have each sprung back up... he looked very disappointed - and Charlie's very disappointed... I can't actually see it so well but I can feel it there. Ah well... nem'mind.
So good having Charlie here - she's still soundo right now, I think she'll sleep late today, very long day for her yesterday and she did brilliantly - that's the first big drive she's done since everything happened. I've been awake since 8am - have decided I no longer want to take my sleeping potion for various reasons, all of them good reasons - but had to concede a half tablet last night as I wasn't going to be sleeping anytime soon... but I know that means I'm not going to be getting more than a few (if that) hours sleep a night - maybe the boots will wear me out - next year I want to get fit, walk a lot and do so much more than I did this year...ha, life begins at 46 (ahaahaha) so, after this little ordeal is over - life is going to change, if I can get my body in better shape. The mind over matter is there, I just hope my body doesn't mind or complain too much.
Boida - hope you are enjoying your birthday and had a treat

Will pop across to the 'sugary' thread to check on how Bellevue went. x
Ah POMcT - kitchen none to happy. That's not good. I hope you can get it dried out slowly - it's the nuisance factor, isn't it. Our newly built bungalow flooded May 3rd 200whenever at Links Tor, day before the builder was putting the wooden flooring in, we were up at Charlies parents for Ian and her Dad's birthday at the time, came home on the bank holiday (4th) in the evening... and... saw all the water coming out of the newly rendered outside of the building - the whole place was under 6 inches of water. I had a self catering business starting up and bookings... and we lost a year of business, total nightmare and nuisance value, thankfully insurance took care of the finer points, but the emotional crahp was CRAHP. Took months to dry out with industrial blowers. Got there in the end tho, a year later nearly to the day - and it was a beautiful, beautiful bungalow, great business.
Yep, Lostwithiel got dumped on heavily - I think the weather just sat over Cornwall and the gales were horrendous... big mess down there. Nasty.

Do you remember Boscastle - ah, pretty much my favourite place in the world...
but then... in the bigger picture, no-one was killed (by some miracle) and the only place left standing was the witches shop
...and then, Pakistan lives a true nightmare still.
Doesn't take anything away what's happening to you - it's still a pain in the bahookie and crahp you can do without, especially coming up towards Christmas - I hope it can all get dried out and that you didn't discover anything under the other cupboards or that it had seeped along. Did the fencing men come back and complete everything they needed to do?
OK, I'm rambling horribly - sorry, prolly gonna be like that for a while, chittering away....
oh, last night I said "nice policeman in nice police car... lucky to get pulled over..." meant to write... lucky NOT to get pulled over... I didn't get pulled over, just got the hairy eyeball. Y'all prolly realised that - how does yer brain do that, miss out words!!!!! Ha.... that made me laugh, y'all are prolly thinking "Mz Izz... miss out a few more and quit yabbering"..... hahahahahahaha
no chance!
blah
Wishing all a good day, Charlie's still zzzzzing... oooh, my boss just called me... been yabbering down the blower to her...
K. gone. <leans over bed, flicks kettle switch... makes cuppa>
