@Izzie,
Morning Izzie. Off to see my guardian angels very shortly, will spend the morning with them. Just a routine visit but will get some needles but nothing compared with my eye specialist I'll see this afternoon. Mrs.B has prepared brekkie so I'd better scram, waves from downunder. ((IIzzie)))

@Izzie,
My sister is doing fine. She has even returned to her work (she works about three days a week as a substitute teacher).

@ehBeth,
Good Morning crew!!! Thank you so much to Dutchy for keeping you posted. As you can imagine it was another hurdle jumped yesterday and I did not get home from the hospital until 8pm and then had to eat and call all the family!
It was fantastic news. I only need radiotherapy and tomoxifem. The doctor seemed very confident and his findings agreed with those of the oncologist at the hospital where I had surgery. Thank you guys for your continued love and support. I really do fight like a girl Thai Chi !

I will not start radio for another 4 weeks, but will start the drugs immediately. I will try to go back to work in the meantime ( only from home) and build myself back up again.

My prayers are being answered every day. Thank you God!

Love to you all and thank you my best crew. (((((((CREW)))))

@FlavourQueen,
FQ, Very pleased to hear that you won't need chemo. Do you have more info about the radiation? How long? How many times a week. I may be able to provide some insight--if you want me to.

Try to get some rest. Not only has your body been through a lot, but your emotions are roiling. And you can never discount how stress affects you. Being surrounded by people who love and care about you helps a lot.

so, how's was the Bonnieland, matey?

Splendid, thanks. We were at Ardtornish Estate, which is quite lear the Isle of Mull, nearest town being Oban.
It's a lovely place, remote, unspoilt.
We caught quite a lot of fish, mainly smallish, although there are salmon and sea trout in the loch, we didn't get into any of them. Most were released, but our accom had a freezer so we froze a few for transporting south. Guess who had the job of cleaning them?

Pics, I have to set that up yet, and bass pics, we haven't taken any yet. I thought maybe I'd get one taken in the nude, like Calendar Girls. What do you think?

(Not that I need a bass fiddle to cover MY modesty. Smile )

Greetings to one and all.

The book of Psalms lets us know what God's will is concerning diseases...
Ps 103:2-3 2 "Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

The Hebrew word for diseases is "tachaluw" and means physical disease, sickness.
Be well FQ, you are in safe hands.

I have just taken a part time job as a sin-eater, so if any of you are looking for a little absolution - send five bucks to the usual address.

Missy, iffin' you get that there computer mahjig fixed, I entreat you not to disclose details of the most embarrassing kind!

Ok! I can't wait...
Yes! That's selcouth, the word is; McT can also play the doodlesack! How about that!

Anyways, due to over indulgence I am looking for an alexipharmic to soothe the savage erinaceous like symptoms. I feel like a funambulist in a diving suit.

What about that storm the other night! Took away my mail box, left a big hole. I've got a guy looking into it...but no sign as yet.

Hiya Izzie, how y'all been doin'? How nice it was to see people across the globe coming together on this thread to support a sick friend. I am sorry I could not do the 'pink' thing - pink and blue is such a no go. However, gray is the new pink so I won't be washing my underpants anytime soon!

Veggy, I do hope you get the IBM job. It will be great to call you when I have a computer problem.

Great to see both the Canadians and the Chicago crew here, I do love that Gotham City.

Keep your spirits up Dutchy, Spring is on the way.

Good news folks.....I have gotta go; it would appear the cops are making some unwarranted demands at the porte coulissante of my cabin.

Energy to all x

@Tryagain,
Hey Try - Great to see you on board - Izie will be mad she has missed you - I LOVE your Psalms quote - God is SO good to me - and I know I am healed - Thanks Blue ((((Blue)))

Roberta - I will have radiotherapy every day Mon - Friday for 15 minutes ( circa) and this will be for 4 weeks with a break every weekend.
Is it true that you get sick ( nausea/vomiting) from breast radiotherapy? And what about the tiredness? - I feel shattered every day and I haven't even started it! - I am starting Tamoxifen this week which I know will have its own side effects, so still a few more hoops to jum through - but hey - I will get there.
Consultant told me the cancer had been there for 5 - 10 years! - Must be pretty slow growing thats all I can say! - Thank goodness.

Any advice, pryaers, love and posivibes are still very much appreciated.

Thanks to all

FQ xx

@FlavourQueen,
I don't have any info specific to breast cancer. Just radiation.

The first thing they're gonna do is zero in on exactly where to aim the radiation. This will be based on the pictures they have. I don't know how things operate in the UK, but I got three little dots tattooed on me for abdominal radiation and one dot tattooed for throat radiation. This will be your first session, and it will likely take more than fifteen mnutes.

Some people have sensitive skin, which reacts to the radiation. If you react this way, they'll give you something to soothe your skin.

Because you don't feel anything with the radiation, you're inclined to think that all is well. And all is going exactly as planned. You will start to feel tired. Not a kind of tired that sleep can fix. But a kind of tired that fills your bones and makes it hard to do anything. There's a lag time for this. You won't start to feel tired right away. And it won't be over when the radiation is over. It takes time to show up and disappear.

I don't know how to prepare you for this kind of tired. You're right that you're already feeling a sense of exhaustion. You're dealing with physical and emotional stress that are doozies. But the only thing you can do is just be tired. Nothing is gonna make it go away except time. And it will go away.

At the moment, I don't know what more I can tell you. I tend to be a pragmatist. I deal with what I've got. And then it's over. You'll get through and past it. I know this.

You're surrounded by people who care about you. Who want you to be well. Who want to do anything and everything they can for you. You'll be fine. Very tired but fine.

Izzie
