MY BELIEF: THE US IS AN OLIGARCHY NOT A REPUBLIC.
PROOF:
Ask people to name three Democratic Candidates and they may quickly tell you Obama, Hillary, and Edwards
Then ask them to name three Republican Candidates and they will quickly tell you McCain, Huckabee and Romney.
NOW
Ask them to tell you one candidate for the Green Party. You will get silence.
People only discuss what is presented to them on the news. Which ever candicate the news decide they are going to promote.....that is precisely what is going to happen. From the beginning you only have the choice of two parties and the choice of two candidates.
People just follow along, they don't investigate alternatives. People only discuss what is on the news.
Do you ever hear of Alan Keyes on the news, or Ron Paul or Kucinich. The news only report on the top tiers. Sometimes they may even misrepresent some runners like Ron Paul.....stating that no republican is against the war. If you observe carefully you will see some blatant lies. Everything is carefully controlled so you can have the choice of any color so long as it is blue.
USA's election is fun to watch and
nothing to do with issues or DEMOCRACY
Please read my views not only here in A2K but also in other forum:
I don't think the elections are "rigged". I do think it's all about money and power, unless you consider that "rigged". I don't know about Florida, but I don't feel our state, after the election for Governor, has recovered the trust we once had. I know I haven't.
Trust in the whole voting process. In case you are interested:

imo the whole thing was a mess. 3 voter counts and use the results of the most inaccurate way to count votes to determine the winner. The whole process left people angry and the ones I talk to still remember. The voters don't forget things like this, especially in this state.
