Ecowater Systems have Bypasses? Since when?
Quote:

Since when do Ecowater Systems have a bypass? I have tested water in about 12 homes in the last 3 months with Ecowater systems and I have yet to find one with a bypass on either the system or hard-plumbed into the system. Is this something new? Then again I have yet to see one that was actually working properly either. I always wondered how one could possibly service an ecowater system without a bypass. Is it some trick or do you simply just kill the water to the whole house as seems to be the case in the homes I have been in?

PS: I should likewise add that our installers love Ecowater systems because they make an extra $8.00 for the copper when we chop one out.

Some dealers don't sell the factory by-pass valve as part of the sale or make a three valve manual by-pass. I think they do that to save money and make it more difficult for the owner to work on the equipment so they call for service.

Now that doesn't sound like a very customercentric company does it?

I should think any reputable company or dealership would have a bypass automatically built into the system itself, or in the least have a bypass hard-plumbed so as to facilitate maintenance without need of shutting off the water main. Guess some companies and dealerships care more about their clientèle than others. Go figure huh?

Have fun Wink

PS: I know our system has a bypass automatically built into the system. After all it just makes sense doesn't it?

Yeah I find that the rip off priced national brand guys are the worst when it comes to customer satisfaction.

You can't beat a factory by-pass valve. A lot of plumbers don't use them and want to plumb a manual three valve by-pass so they can make more money.

They all have bypass valves - are you sure you weren't looking at the water heater?

Since when does a water heater have a brine tank attached to it? Are you sure you should be giving advice to people H20-man if you aren't sure of the difference yourself?

Contrary to what you may think they don't all have bypasses on them, and if you aren't sure of that perhaps you should talk to Mr. Foley the local Ecowater dealer in Marshall Minnesota and ask him yourself, because none of the models he installs have one. I know this because I get them chopped out all the time.

Have fun

Contrary to what you think you know - all EcoWater systems come with bypass valves.

What is this chop shop you work for?

Exactly what part of my original post in this thread did you fail to comprehend H20_man? I made it abundantly clear that I have tested water in several homes that had Ecowater systems and not a one of them had a bypass either hard plumbed or on the system.

You can only imagine my frustration as it is my intent in these homes to test the water, not the softeners. As it happens I am forced to test the water through the softener rather than bypassing it (as this is not possible without a bypass I could put it in regen, but why bother the test won't be any more accurate will it?), and in most cases the softeners are not working anyways. I mean one shouldn't expect to get readings of 12-26 grains through a working softener should one?

I am sorry but are you a factory representative for Ecowater systems? Do you own the dealership of which I based my personal experiences upon? If neither is the case, then I fail to see what you specifically have to do with anything. Do you have an insecurity complex or are you normally this paranoid?

When I was a wee lad we didn't have such ridiculous contraptions, we learned to drink from a glass like an adult. That said, I am guessing yours has either Spongebob Squarepants or Bob the Builder on it. So which is it? Inquiring minds truthfully don't care.
