"Oh, we were just playing. Good morning, hon."
Not nearly as traumatic as when we saw a turtle in the road,
turned around to move him only to see him splattered by a school bus.
Quote:The odd glimpse of a moving bum between loving parents
is very different from little kids seeing porn.
To that statement,
I must
take exception.
Even as an old man,
the thought of seeing my own parents thusly involved
offends my sensibilities beyond the power of words to express.
I am very glad that it was never my misfortune to witness that.
I believe that most people in America agree with that.
If it were strangers, or the neighbors, that wud be different.
In my opinion, it 'd be better for little kids to see porn 1000 times,
rather than watching
THEIR OWN PARENTS doing it; that 'd be sick n gross.
( altho accidents DO happen )
I remember once, at a family gathering,
my father being tasteless enuf to describe
some problems he had on his wedding night.
This statement was in my presence.
I was offended, tho I said nothing.
Quote:They shouldn't be seeing The Terminator, either.
Too scary.

and acting out of what they have seen.
THANK U.
This is the specificity that I was asking about.
This, I understand.

is that porn will have no negative effect on kids.
U have
DISTORTED what I posted.
Please read it again.
I did
NOT assert anything to be true.
I do not have sufficient information to form a judgment on this point.
I have no information regarding this matter, whatsoever
( or, more precisely, I did not have it until u set forth your reply above ).
I only
ASKED, as a point of genuine curiousity,
for
a precise description of the dangers to be feared.
U did a nice job of answering my question, hereinabove.
Quote:I have no idea what his view on violence is.
My only information,
and the only factual basis that I have about violence in entertainment, as to children,
is from my own experience during the first few years of my life.
I remember seeing movies of cowboys ( or, more precisely, of acrobatic stuntment )
jumping off horses, pretending to have been shot during gunfights.
At around the age of 5, I was shocked, grossed out, alarmed and offended in my sensibilities.
I accepted, without question, my mother 's assurance that no one had really been killed.
I was confident that actors were
NOT being slaughtered to make movies;
yet, this creeped me out, in a major way.
It was worse, in a
non-violent melancholy movie of cowboys who 'd lost a friend,
whose death thay were somberly discussing.
An actor put on a white sheet, and acted as a ghost, chatting with his friend.
At that age,
I found that
intensely disturbing, in my emotions,
tho I had no doubt that it was just an actor making a living, in costume.
Worst of all,
was the occasion of the police arriving at my aunt 's house, when I was 6,
to remove the corpse of my grandmother, who had died in her sleep of a heart attack.
I was in great fear of the dead body.
I cud not explain the reason for that phobia,
which applied to dead bodies of humans or of animals.
It wore off, with age.
