I suggest it's a fair argument to make that the level of overall censorship (or lack thereof) of a given subject matter, is a reasonable barometer by which to judge society's acceptance (or lack thereof) of said given subject matter.

As such, irrelative of protestations to the contrary, graphically showing killing is more socially acceptable than graphically showing adults having consensual sex in North America.

Less censorship of sex stuff on tv, for instance.

But I think we, also, see more war than love.

If you had a hutch full of 6 year old kids, and had to choose which would you show them: Debbie Does Dallas (1978) or The Terminator (1984), which would it be and why?

I would show them The Terminator, because, contrary to popular belief, I am not a sick bastard.

Actually, I would consider showing them Debbie doing the Terminator, but only if they promised to take their naps afterwards.

I'd show them Debbie Does Dallas because that's what I'd rather watch. Screw what the little bastards want.

I would show them the current version where Debbie does Osama in a Cave

Kicky's a good man. And I agree with him. If they don't like it, they can go play in the street, like I did when I was a kid.

(and look how I've turned out)

I agree; why the choice between two equally provocative activities?

(Oh yea, I forgot Chumly gets off on being provocative)

The corner of my eye just read this as "Exposed genitalia and teeth." I was expecting some sort of illustration.

False, it's classical rhetoric to illuminate my initial post. However if you wish to maintain your dubious notions, who am I to temper your misconceptions.
