@George,
Hey, George, walk towards San Francisco. I'll buy you a great meal with drinks when you arrive.

went on a treadmill for the first time over the weekend (hotel weight room).
i did 15 minutes at a brisk pace with a slight incline.

liked it, although i wasn't thrilled with the feeling when i got off -- felt like i was still moving.

thinking about buying one.
i already have a spot for it picked out on the 3rd floor... Mr. Green

would make for a nice option when it's too snowy/icy/blustery to go running out-of-doors.

anybody own one?
what brand do you have?
did you buy it new or used?
thanx...
George

@Region Philbis,
Same questions from me Smile

Plus also how is eBay vis a via buying stuff (perhaps we should make our own topic on this)?

This weekend's exercise also involved dancing. Wink

@jespah,
Overstock.com has great shipping fees (like, free or some nominal amount like $1 -- it changes). I've looked at treadmills there and they seemed promising. We realized we had noplace to put one though (basement is most obvious but it has low ceilings -- we'd whap our heads with every stride).

@Region Philbis,
RP, I don't own one, so I can't help with purchase advice. But regarding the dismount issues: it helps to slow down gradually. I think I literally fell down (forward) after getting off a treadmill the first time.

Go yard sale, kijiji, craigslist, freecycle ... if you can't find a free one - go night-before-garbage walking/driving. There's a treadmill out in my neighbourhood at least once a month.

I'd be amazed if you had to pay more than $200 for one that's been used about the equivalent of one month.

I outsmarted myself Embarrassed
A. asked if anyone had a problem being in the front row. I put my hand up.
ok.
Now I'm in the second row. But I'm right in the freakin' middle, in the triangle with the professional dancer.
I shoulda stayed in the front on the left-hand fringe. I coulda slunk behind the curtain ...

Watch for the tomato head in the middle, drum for me, and cross your fingers that my false eyelashes don't fall off.

@ehBeth,
I'm looking, I'm looking... WHICH itty pic?!

I'll be banging a drum for ya! Go beth!

I ran yesterday btw, not Monday or Tuesday though. Just me and trackmom, fast-fast-fast, love that autumn weather alright!! Five laps. (Did four, then walked, then came up to the starting line again and I felt way too energetic, so we did another.)
