JPB--

Thanks for the interest.

Anorexia is not my bag. I'm 5' 2", so I can weigh as little as 101 pounds and still have a BMI in the "normal" range.

On the other hand, the next pound I lose will be just under 1.1% of my body weight. In spite of my flabby muscles, those last two pounds I dropped made an enormous difference in the way my clothes fit around the waist.

I'm vaguely aiming for a permanent weight of 104 or 105. I'm prone to gastric episodes and this gives me a 3-4 pound leeway in case of illness.
Efforts from here on in are first maintaining my new weight and building some new muscles.

Several years ago I read a study which found that the best technique of self-motivation for daily exercise was to tell yourself, "Get up and do it--RIGHT NOW!'

Time to stretch.

Exactly. I'm finding that inner directed nagging works best for me. Years of people telling me to do something were all well and good, and it's not that I didn't listen to them, but I just started filing them away. No more of that, far as I'm concerned.

Today should be a good walking day as we wait for the game to start. I am making a spinach-artichoke dip that should be fantastic and low cal/low fat but there is some sodium. I've decided that sodium is going to be an issue today and that's just how it's going to be. But I'll do my best to keep it in check and frankly it looks like the day will go by without a real huge honkin' issue with salt. I do not have to watch salt, but I am mindful of it making me retain water and, since I am weighing myself tomorrow, I want to give myself every advantage.

Yesterday, RP said he noticed my hips look narrower. Smile

RP is a Man with An Eye.

As for the sodium situation, remember that every so often on the wilds of the savannah there was an absolutely delicious salt lick.

I went for my 11th 10 kilometre (6mi) run of the new year today.

It's easy at the moment as it is high summer where I am and I am lucky to have some nice white sand beaches and volcanic summits to use for tracks.

Am now recovering with a few bourbons Drunk

Holy cow!
Training runs, races, or both?

Training runs to keep the fat at bay with the vague aspiration of a half marathon at some stage, possibly in April.

Sorry for tardy reply.

Oh, up to 13 now. It was 90 degrees and humid today, too. Embarrassed

Too much salt for the last two days. UGH. And yes, of course, a small weight gain. Fortunately, less than a pound, though not by much.

What kills me is that most of the stuff that I ate was really, really lousy. We ordered in and it was terrible. I can cook better than that. LOTS better than that. We've eaten restaurant meals since I started this program but this was from a different place and my choices were good re fat and calories (we ordered for two nights, and both of my ordered were grilled chicken dishes), but the salt was on Saturday night twice what I'm allocated for the day, and then on Sunday night it was a lot closer to my daily amount but still borderline high. I did do myself a lot of good by drinking a lot of water and herbal tea, so fortunately things were no worse than that.

Ugh. I don't want to get food from there again any time soon. Lesson learned.

Jes--

I hate spending perfectly good money for lousy food--particularly when I could have done it better myself.

Just for your information, the next salt lick is at least ten days down the road.

I've flung and I've bounced and as soon as the Beloved Family Dog decides to come in from the cold, I'll climb on the exercycle.

This damn Garmin is too accurate. A couple of days ago on the same route I got 5.02 miles. Last night, same route in reverse...... 4.99.

Okay, so I cut one corner a little closer or something.

Exercised yesterday and have good intentions for today.

Joe--

As the Old Wives would have it sleep between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. is particularly restorative for the youthful complexion.

Is Early Morning Running as beneficial as Beauty Sleep?
