Diesel Mercedes question

On the dashboard is a coil picture which lights up when you start up the car. You are supposed to wait for a warning buzz to stop to turn the key fully on, but now the light stays on while the buzzing goes off. Does anybody know what this means? My boyfriend says it's not serious, but he isn't a Mercedes mechanic, and I'm not sure he is an expert on this. Help!~

perhaps it's just a loose wire .... but since it's a mercedes , i wouldn't fool around with it . if there is really something wrong , better get it fixed BEFORE you may be faced with a major repair bill .
why not at least phone a repairshop (diesel injection service might help) and try to get some FREE information ?
you have checked the manual , haven't you ???

In cold weather the light will stay on longer. The buzzer is a courtesy reminder to look at the light.

In cold weather it takes longer to warm up the glow plugs....
