Hi,
I have a new 3P973 (UELSM1001) MacClean softener - but do not have the manual. Can anyone tell me how to correctly operate this softener and provide some advice, etc.
I tried to locate a manuel - but have been unsuccessful.
Thanks,
Tom
Have you found their web site? McClean is owned by CUNO, so maybe their web site has a manual.
If you can find a picture of the control valve on a web site and post it I can tell you what control valve you have and then you can get a manual from the manufacturer's or another web site that uses the valve. Depending on how old the softener is, it might be a Fleck 2510 or a Clack WS-1.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for the info. Here are some pictures I just took:
Do these help?

That is a very proprietary control valve. It reminds me of their One Step, but it isn't exactly like it. So I can't help other than to say they make it or someone else does but you won't find it at Fleck etc..
I'm sorry to say that McClean stopped making and providing parts for that control about two years ago. It was a proprietary control type. What I've been doing in my business is replacing the obsolete controls with new controls that I stock and have parts for or replacing them with complete new water softeners.
