Senator Joe Lieberman endorsed John McCain today stating one reason being that no democrat candidate asked for his endorsement. Boggles the mind donut?
At first, perhaps. However, upon reflection, i'm not surprised that none of the Democrats sought Lieberman's endorsement.
It was Republican voters, I thought, that re-elected Lieberman to the Senate in Connecticut. The Democrats did not put him on the ballot as a Democrat, so he became an Independent. I remember the warm greeting President Bush gave him prior to (or after?) one of his (Bush's) speeches. I believe Lieberman shows Independent voters that it is O.K. to align oneself with the Republicans.
This might also be a sign not to count McCain out.
I think Lieberman is a disgrace , a panderer and an idiot.
Which is too bad, because I feel certain he holds me in only the highest esteem
He supports the Iraq war and so does Mcain. His boo-hoo story about no Democrats asking him is political subterfuge.
He's obviously a man of high integrity and discerning taste.
Um ... that "taste" comment has absolutely nothing to do with Set's post.
