Slappy, what maintenance? Well, with my (not whining) truncated life, I don't do that many miles. There is a keen volvo independent place I like a lot, not least since I pick up humor rolling around the place, so, so far so good.

Look on Ebay motors. A 2000 with 50-60K miles are listed under "buy it now" for around $18-20K. Not bad, considering they were over $70K new. You have to be prepared for expensive maintenance on them though.
I thought I posted this, but I guess not. My friend's jag was this, in white...
Osso, gotta love those Brit spokes...

Osso, that's also very nice! Very nice indeed! I knew a wealthy woman once who had a white one as well. Very nice!
but.. whatever the lameness of the car... it had beauty.
That red '55 Jag is freakin' gorgeous!
But this one:
is pretty sweet too! I can't believe it's only $18-20k for a 2000!
Jaguar = Mazda = Ford. The only Mazda made wholly in Japan is the Miata at least that's what they say on
http://www.miata.net/
To me most of the new Jaguars are tarted up Fords, and that's fine, but not worth the asking price.
I met my ex last time in LA, at a/our cafe, and saw his new leased car. Yeah, a balloon jag. I screened my dismay. I am a very low money person now, but I was thinking, what happened to the last not bad one?
Not at all a gripe here, I still like him,
but saying that perception of beauty doesn't depend on income, much less income across the globe.
Agreeing to my own last sentence, those old jags were beautiful.
And
Sprites were a joke even then...
This one looks better though
Cars in general have become more commodity-like in that the quality differences, within given model types, between major brands that sell well in North America, has become less than it once was.
Sight unseen I would still give the nod to the Japanese over British / European / American.
Those both look sort of interplanetary to me, CJ, sans finesse. Aah, let me just bury my head in ital car shows.
Grinds teeth to say I like some better than others.
I actually have seen a few new Jaguars on the road today. I had to
look twice to recognize that it's a Jag. The new one is not as long and
slick as the others were, which to me was a trademark. The new one
is kind of stumpy - no comparison to the Maserati at all.
I seem to remember liking the last photos I saw of recent Maseratis..
Talked with Dys about them today, but that was more about relative speed..
The Masarati is a $100K car, give or take. The Jag XF is $50-60K.
The new version of the XJ8, is a better comparison:
If Ima go big $ Brit, I want an Aston.....
