Questions for the Left

If GWB is responsible for 9-11, as many internet liberals claim, why did he target the World Trade Center and the Pentagon? Surely he needed the Pentagon intact so as to make it easier to fight the wars he wanted to fight and what purpose was there for attacking the WTC? If you are going to destroy something so you can have an excuse for claiming unconstitutional powers, why not destroy the Capitol? Surely attacking the Capitol- with Congress in session- would have made it that much easier to claim dictatorial powers since Congress wouldn't be around to stand in your way.

By your standards I probably qualify as a Leftie, although my problem is with the Bushies and not Republicans in general. I don't think GWB planned or created the 9/11 attack, but I do think he (and his cronies) were so wide eyed with greed at capturing the White House that they missed the warning signs. I think an administration less obsessed with grabbing power and partying with corporate American would have seen it coming. I think if Bush doesn't find a way burn all the papers from his administration the truth will one day come out.

Of course, Bush has now killed more Americans with his bad judgement than Osama could have ever dreamed about. If I didn't know better I would say Bush works for Osama. but that's a separate Liberal conspiracy.

Oh for the good old days of blow jobs instead of snow jobs.

I could say the same thing about Clinton and his liberals wanting to party with Hollywood elitists.

Flaja,

You seem to be obsessed with "the left". Did something happen to you that you would like to tell us about?

(To answer your question... I agree completely with what GreenWitch said.)

"Many" claim this? Perhaps a few nutjobs and conspiracy theorists both on the left and the right, but I don't recall seeing any otherwise reasonable voice proclaiming this.

I agree that anyone who gets into office is going to see it as an opportunity for self advancement, but Bush and Cheney took it to a new level. Clinton kept his screwing around on a personal level, Bush has done it to the whole country.

The other reason I don't think Bush & Co. engineered 9/11 is because they could never have pulled off such a successful operation. Let's face it - if the Bushies were behind 9/11 the hijackers would have had Texas accents, been dressed up like Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia and the planes would have ended up crashing into each other somewhere over New Jersey because no one in the Bush administration passed Geography 101 .

If any of those "many internet liberals" actually answer your silly, silly question, Herr Flaja--be sure to stop by and let us know what you've learned.

And all of that illegal campaign money that Clinton got from the Chinese?

Any money that comes from the Chinese can probably can be traced back to Walmart, so unless you've never purchased a Chinese made product, you have certainly contributed to Chinese influence in American politics (they also give to the Republicans I assure you). I'm not someone who is going to defend Clinton or current presidential funding - it doesn't work for anyone other than the lobbyists, but I do look at the overall cause and effect of an administration. I think the Bush administration has a lot to hide and I hope it comes out one day. Surely you're not suggesting that Bush and Cheney have had pure, self-sacrificing intentions? I think history will prove this to be the most corrupt administration to ever enter the White House.

Flaja, on another note: Why are you so attached to these Bushies? Why do you feel the need to defend them? If Bush and Cheney were Democrats you would be aiming your rifle scope at them. They have acted like the worst of liberal thinkers- they have taken over a piss ant foreign country with the excuse that they are bringing "freedom"; they spend your tax money to rebuild Iraqi hospitals, schools and infrastructure like it's Beverly Hills; they sent in a poorly equipped military thinking roses would thrown in their path instead of roadside bombs and they are creating debt like it's being charged to their rich Daddy's credit card instead of America's children. What part of their program reflects Republican values? Really Flaja, this kind of action makes me think radical liberal, not radical conservative.

(sorry for the poor grammar, but I think you'll get the point)

You have documentation for this, or are you saying that liberal Democrats are just as dependent on and subservient to corporations as the Left says Republicans are?

Duh . . . she's saying that China is making a mint selling cheap consumer goods to Walmart who then sells them to the American public; therefore, the money the Chinese lavished on Clinton and Gore came out of the pockets of poor Americans.

Not too swift on the uptake, huh?

what's good for Walmart is good for the nation. As good patriots we should all spend more cash at Walmart thereby enriching China so that the Chinese can buy more US politicans so that we can buy more chinese goods at Walmart which is good for the nation. Retail is the heart of the american economy while China is the aorta. Walmart has 194 stores in China which makes it kinda like a mobius loop feeding US politicans like a perpetual motion machine.

I'll answer your question after you answer a few of mine. You're cherry picking a detail and ignoring the substance.

I don't think Democrats are as bad as Republicans when it comes to corporate whoring, but I'm not going to award them any halos and wings either. I think the weakest thing about the Democrats is that they sometimes act like Republicans when they smell the money. However, Bush Co. has brought the term Republican to be synonymous with ignorance, greed, hypocrisy and incompetence. Even Nixon mostly brought shame just to himself, it took Bush Co. to bring the whole party down to the level of trash. If I was a devoted Republican I would want these guys drummed out in disgrace.

What substance? That Clinton received campaign money from the Chinese is a matter of public record as reported by the news media at the time. But you claim that this Chinese money actually came from Wal-Mart. But you have made no effort to provide any evidence supporting your claim.

But at any rate I would consider campaign money from the Chinese to be only marginally worse for the country than campaign money from Wal-Mart would be. Either way the country's well-being suffers.
