So the governor of Geogia is
praying for rain and suing the US for more water. This seems like bad politics and bad religion.
On the bad politics side, how can the governor of a US state pray on behalf of his contituents when they might not even worship? If Georgia gets more water, who is going without?
On the bad religion side, this seems like the
parable of the talents. The people of Georgia (and the Southeast US) have been blessed with water supplies that would astound those in the West, but squandered it. Now that the situation is becoming dire, they are finally cutting back, but instead of begging forgiveness for wasting the resources entrusted to them, they are asking for more from God and demanding a bigger share from other states.
