Unfortunately Benn is a political has-been.
Quote:After Argentina had invaded the Falkland Islands in April 1982 Benn argued that the dispute should be settled by the United Nations and that the British Government should not send a task force to recapture the islands. The task force was sent and the Falklands was soon back in British hands. In a subsequent debate in the Commons, Benn's demand for "a full analysis of the costs in life, equipment and money in this tragic and unnecessary war" was countered by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher stating that "he would not enjoy the freedom of speech that he put to such excellent use unless people had been prepared to fight for it."
Wikipedia.
How ironic that the political figures in a republic (the US) are treated with the sort of obeisant deference you'd expect in a monarchial tradition whereas in England they get spanked in public.
Well--we all rather like Mr Benn. He's a lovable old eccentric.
I wouldn't call that a spanking though when Mr Bolton's reply, if he made one, was edited off the end and Mr Benn was given the last word by those who needed to justify the spanking word.
It's only entertainment anyway.
Re: Tony Benn Beats Bolton To A Pulp
a) Why do you think we have the time to watch a youtube video?
b) Why don't you at least give a comment to the video?
c) Are you in the UK? Otherwise, I don't understand why this would be of import?
