How is it bush has the stones to tell Musahrreff (sp?) that he can't be president and head of the army when bush has delighted so many times in pointing out that he, as president, is commander in chief and the last word on what the military does?

Where in the Constitution does it give the US any power to dictate to any other sovereign nation ANYTHING?

When will this govt learn it's lesson?

The phrase "Pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom,
used to accuse another speaker of hypocrisy,
in that the speaker disparages the subject in a way
that could equally be applied to him or her. I

You ok? The way you stopped at the beginning of you last sentence caused me to believe someone stuck a knife in your back as you were typing and your forehead is now on your keyboard, the lifeblood draining from your body. How very tragic.

Bush is not the only idiot in this Govt talking about how Pakistan should run it's country. Many dopes in Congress are speaking out of their butts and saying the same thing GW is saying.

And you expected congress to act differently? It's congress. The current model.

Ok, I'll bite...

The President of the US is a civilian leader, not a military leader. Though the title Commander-in-chief is granted him in the US constitution, he has final say in all military matters, but also relies heavily on the Joint Chiefs of Staff to advise him.

Aren't you the same neo-libs that say Bush has no military experience anyways?

The US isn't Pakistan and Bush is not Musharraf.

I agree about your constitutional interpretation of USA.
The same is the case in Pakisthan where BUSHAREFF(Bush/Mushareff) had changed his country's constitution to suit according to his political role.
And he is a bedfellow of BUSH

which makes it all the more ridiculous for him to advise another leader when he's such a dangerous screw up himself...

That's usually what dangerous screw-ups do. Deflect every chance they get.

Considering the fact that Pakistan is in possession of a nuclear armament, and that Al Qaede seems to have taken up house keeping in Pakaistan, it seems to be at least a good idea to attempt to keep the Islamic extremists away from have access to the military weapons.

One thing about this kind of thing though... why is Chavez getting basically a free pass in the press and from neo-libs (yeah, I know some of you have been discussing it in various threads) while Musharraf gets grilled.

I sincerely believe that it is because of Bush. Your hatred of Bush completely blinds you to anything beyond your hatred of Bush. Chavez hates Bush so you love him. Musharraf gets along with Bush and therefore you hate him.

BPB is expressing the attitudes of the "neo-libs" and I think BPB nailed it perfectly.
