Noddy, Noddy, pleeease! put down the lightsabre.... I'm defenceless, out of my depth, drowning. I only resorted to the DT reference as a fig leaf to the cover the slough of my ignorance. It is just that the only thing that comes to my mind when the word 'dominion' is mentioned, outside of the legal or historic context of course, is the sonorous voice of DT declaiming his verses.
Alas that doesn't help overcome any shaky grasp on the language.
In fact that very point set me a-thinking about poetry versus prose. One can have a love of poetry and love the words in it, without necessarily developing any greater ability to apply the vocabulary in the correct grammatical context of written English. And, what with poet's license sanctioning the 'misuse' of words in certain circumstances, one might conclude that poetry is a far more tolerant medium and that penning coherent elegant English prose remains the ultimate challenge.
Anyhow that's Rambling Sid Rumpole signing off! Duty calls and I must to that toilsome editing agin...
As for Glendower, well he's due back any day legend has it! Could be interesting. BTW as you didn't say if you were on EST, now I'm inclined to ask if you're Welsh?
Mi casa es tu casa, and all that...
