Boothbay Harbor. Above. Crazy colours, hm?
This one's from down at the wharf...
Sorry I missed this entire post but I was out of the US when you posted it. I hope your trip was great. Isee that , from your photos that you were in CAmden and Boothbay. (We who are the habitues of the Washington County area, consider it to be the "other State of MAine")
Next time, if you wished to see spectacular fall colors, Id have reccomended a trip on RT 9 from Bangor (Thats BANG'- AW) all the way N to the Canadian Border between Calais and Houlton.. Its affectionately called "The AIr Line" cause its a route that mostly skims along the hill crests and has views of the beaver dam valleys on both sides.
Se any mooses? theyre starting to get thick as flies and they dont often watch when crossing a hiway, so they can be quite dangerous.
Northern MAine in the winter is fun also. The people celebrate the season by all sorts of suppers and outside events involving snowshoes, street luges, and ice skating.
I hope you didnt go to Meddybemps. Its just a huge lake and beaver damed area with hills and sedges and it can be a pretty barren place.
Those photos are excellent!
