You need to read more newspapers. The headlines of almost all of them stated that congress or the democrats didn't pass the bill. They say nothing about the republicans blocking the vote with a minority of senate votes. Dosent it make you wonder just how much the democrats really want the war to end? Also I noticed that the ethics committee wont investigate any senators by mutual agreement. Choose which crook you want to vote for.

There was no up-or-down vote on this measure. The republicans didn't allow the Democrats to have a vote ... the filibustered.

The vote for cloture failed even though a clear majority in the senate voted for it. This meant the minority refused to allow the Senate to have a vote on the issue.

A filibuster... blocking the vote... get it?

You should read my whole post. I said the repubs blocked the vote. Yes thats what a filibuster is. Blocking the vote with a minority of the votes.
