Just said on that AAC stream that Cairns should be feeling the brunt of it at any moment now.

Also said that high tide will not coincide with the storm surge so water levels won't be quite as high.

AAC radio just said the wave buoy at Townsville has recorded an 18 meter wave.

Edit: Now they're saying that isn't accurate, that the waves are turning the buoys upside down and the measurements aren't accurate.

Looks to me like Cairns has had the worst it will get from this. It's heading away from you now, and towards Dunk Island and Tully. Townsville will also get worse than Cairns being on the southern side.

It registered that, yes, but was NOT credible. They think the bouy has been turned upside down. (According to our state Premier live on TV)
