This isn't a deep subject.
I will always prefer the original cast to any that came after.
I remember exactly where I was sitting (!) when I saw Belushi's impression of Joe Cocker.
I loved the old commercial parodies - Big Red, Quarry cereal.... the one with Roseanne Barr as the credit card help person who tells the caller who wants an immediate replacement card that "if I've got such power over time and space, why would I be sitting here at 3am talking to you?"
Anything that Gilda did - Roseanne Roseannadanna, Emily Litella.
christopher walken's cowbell sketch...
Eddie Murphy when he did Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood has always been one of my favorites....It's a hell of a day in the neighborhood, a hell of a day for a neighbor...and can you say X-con? SO funny! Will Ferrill and Cheri O'Terry as the Chearleaders would almost make me pee in my pants it was so funny.
great hosts:
garth brooks / robert duvall together (old french whore, who's more grizzled, lay lady lay)
alec baldwin (canteen boy, schwetty balls)

Mike Myers.
he dressed in drag for Linda Richman's "Coffee Talk".

dana carvey as an italian waiter dispensing "zee freshay pepper" also comes to mind...
Massive Head Wound Harry was good for cheap laughs.

Thanks for straightening that out. He was a hoot, wasn't he?! What is it about a man in a dress?
oh yeah....James Brown and the hot tub.....classic.
I love Horatio Sands.
There one where he plays this guy back in the days of Jesus. His name was Barry.
Jesus, played by Will Ferrell agreed with everyone that "Barry's weird"
When Horatio comes up to them, they all ask "Hey Barry, whatcha doin?"
Barry: ".......nothin......killin the devil....."
I've so wanted to say that when someone's asked me what I was doing.
Please, somebody ask me....
.....nothin.....killin' the devil.....
oooo...that felt so good.
farley's
Matt Foley, motivational speaker... he lives in a van down by the river...

Looks like you're hanging around the trailer park. That book cover is nasty!!!
Ha! I love that one!
Does anybody else remember the bit he'd do on Weekend Update? The character's name was Bennett Brauer, and he'd go on a rant about his social problems as though people were terribly unfair to him, using air quotes every time he mentioned one of the ridiculously gross things he did wrong...The way he delivered it made it so hilarious--
Quote:Maybe I'm not "the norm". I'm not "camera friendly". I don't "wear clothes that fit me". I'm not a "heartbreaker". I haven't "had sex with a woman"; I don't know "how that works". I guess I don't "fall in line". I'm not "hygenic". I don't "wipe properly". I lack "style". I have no "charisma" or "self esteem". I don't "own a toothbrush" or "let my scabs heal". I can't "reach all the parts of my body". When I sleep, I "sweat profusely".
My parents and I still quote that and giggle

Don't really watch SNL anymore but I thought "Dick in a Box" this passed holiday season was brilliant.
eoe, yeah I don't watch it much anymore either. I don't think any of this cast is particularly funny. But SNL goes in cycles.
I love the skit where Adam Sandler sings "Lunch Lady Land" and Chris Farley is dancing around dressed as the lunch lady. Anyone else remember that one? The best is when he looks at him at the end and starts laughing at Farley's crazy dancing and posing during the song. I love it anytime somebody breaks up another one of the cast members during a skit.
Oh yeah...Chris could seriously dance, really.
I remember that one. With the hair net, gray uniform and apron.
Wasn't the lunch lady wearing big black glasses too?
Speaking of dancing, what about when he did the Chippendale Dancer audition against Patrick Swayze?
that was awesome.
I really miss Chris Farley. He was a really good guy.
