President Bush poses with the troops

Published: September 5, 2007

Iraq is a long way to go for a photo op, but not for President George W. Bush, who is pulling out all the stops to divert public attention from his failed Iraq policies and to keep the U.S. Congress from demanding that he bring the troops home.

As Robin Cook (British Foreign Secretary at the time, who then resigned on this issue) said,

"Iran was not attacked because it was strong, because it was a threat.
It was attacked because it was weak."
