I neither know the author nor nor the situation in the USA.

But generally it is said that people in Europe increasingly receive more and more care than the younger.


At least that is what historic and actual figures show.

Most of the medical care for those over 65 in the USA comes from medicare, and in some cases from medicaid. The remainder of the 65+ population has health insurance as part of their retirement plan from their employer.

Well, of course those, who have a private insurance here, get their benefits from that as well (and/or additionally).
