Miller, Congratulations. While we were young and working, our portfolio averaged about a 25 percent annual increase. When I retired, I sold our income property and had the "experts" at Vanguard choose our mix of funds. We're still ahead for the past three years about 9.5 percent annual increase (was ahead over 10 percent last month). Enough for me to continue my lifestyle of world travel about eight times/year. No complaints.

I'm ahead, CI, primarily because MO spun off Kraft this past year and made me a very good profit... Laughing

Don't let this one-time uptick in the market fool you. The sub-prime market still has a long ways to go before it's mended. It's like a temporary relief after taking two aspirins.
