Sounds like our government is eating itself. That may be a good thing.

Add two more to the list of those who have allegedly dishonored their service in Congress. Messrs Young and Stevens. It matters not what their party affiliation is, they should if guilty be shown the door....

Welcome to A2K Cghs48, glad to have you here.

What is it about gaining political power that corrupts originally well-intentioned people in all the world's governments?

Have you ever heard the phrase that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Of course.

But how do we give responsibility and accountability without also giving power?

Are these scandals not powerful evidence for term limits?

The fact is that there is no accountability in government any more. They all refuse to tell how much under the table money they get. Until we finally reform the political contribution system and acknowledge it is a form of graft made legal by the politicians we are going to have a government of the rich for the rich no matter how the rest of us vote. Money trumps votes.

We will continue to get what we deserve until we stop voting automatically for the incumbent because we recognize his or her name....usually along party lines.
