Democrats are like tourists in Washington who get lost driving in DuPont Circle, they go round and round without ever figuring their way out of the maze. As a bystander, you stand on the sidewalk and think to yourself, ?'I hope that idiot doesn't kill someone'.

Barack Obama wants to take the nation in circles. Sunday at a town hall meeting in Iowa, Obama criticized the budget deficit while in the same breath proposing alternative ways of spending. Obama began by claiming the war is costing $100 billion a year. He then pulled out a handy cheat sheet to remind him where he is (the first congressional district of Iowa) and proclaims that the war has cost the district alone, $678 million. So Obama is a budget conscious Dem who wants to reduce the deficit? Nope. As soon Senator Obama was done critiquing the war budget, he started rattling off ways the district could have been spending their money if they weren't sending it to Washington to fund a war defending their freedom. Obama said the money could have bought the district "15,000 elementary school teachers, 100,000 head start places for children, health care for 300,000 children, 80 new elementary schools and 15,000 music and arts teachers, etc."

The stupidity of his message is deafening. He thinks we've spent too much money fighting terrorism while we should be spending more on teaching kids to play the French horn. It also shows how insincere Democrats are when they talk about reducing the size of the deficit. They aren't interested in cutting spending as much as they are in cutting and running. This is how Democrats think. They go round and round and the rest of us are left hoping their stupidity doesn't kill anyone.
