A Trojan horse; A Virus and the Boob Tube

In another thread my friend Alan talks of Satan and that got me to thinking and here is what culminated from those thoughts.

Satan is like a Trojan Horse. Comes as a gift and once infiltrated is anything but. Like a television set. Observe SATAN and it's mirror image-NATAS. Do you know what NATAS is? THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES. How's that grab you? I don't know what television is like in South Africa, Alan but I know all to well what it is here in the states. Considering how I feel about television, that's one hell of a coincidence, huh! Like live's mirror image is evil.

If God has an antithesis, and it is Satan, then television is it's TOOL to get the LOOT, wow, and it's voice is rhetoric (Language that is elaborate, pretentious, insincere, or intellectually vacuous). A true instance of genius falling into the wrong hands. God help us. It won't be long before television and the computer will be one. Damn! Invest in "La-Z-Boy" stock now. Before you know it they will come equipped with a toilet attached. Were close now.

The ultimate lay-z-boy - Geekologie

What a life; a remote control in one hand and and cell phone in the other. Kitchen's will become obsolete. Call out will be the in thing.

It is no secret here my regard for television. It sucks. It sucks the life out of anyone addicted to it. And I mean addicted. Many who are compelled to watch it, have no life and believe what it depicts is life. God what a crying shame that is to me if no one else thinks that. It seems our whole existence now revolves around it's fabrications and that is exactly what they are. Another word for fabrications is lies, karnards when the most magnificent lie appears as a truth.

I think television could be a good thing and it possibly was in the beginning but is has become a Trojan horse. It influences everything about us and it IS NOT REAL. It is staged, truly staged, choreographed, edited and programmed and it depicts what it wants you to think life is.

It is so common now people have no clue of what life would be like without it. I promise you life isn't what television depicts it to be. Even at it's best it is like offering a chocolate cake to a child then tying his hands behind his back unless he has the money to pay for a slice, ha! Of course if you don't there are those who are more than willing to loan you some. And at it's worst it instills fear and then tries to sell you something so you won't be afraid.

It is a device that encapsulates what evil has always been. An entrapment ploy creating problems when there aren't any and then offering solutions at a cost or else. How many times as anyone of you managed to escape it's hypnotic hold and venture into another room where others are doing the same; glued to the "boob tube" and no one even noticed you were there and if you per chance try to engender conversation, you were told to be quiet, "I'm watching TV". Hell, I have even heard they are putting them in refrigerator doors. You think I kidding, check out this link:

LG Refrigerator With Built-In LCD TV - Smarthome

Are we that lazy or is it we have nothing else to do? Even if we did have something else to do is it possible to actually escape from in front of a television set to do it? I love my friends with all my heart but when I tell them I don't watch television, the look at me like I'm crazy or something. Damn! It's on all the time.

Could television be a good thing? Most assuredly. If we had a benevolent "big brother" keeping an eye on the world and it was used to keep us posted on what was REALLY going on.............yes! That would be real "REALITY TV".

Now most will say there is some good stuff on television and I will agree, there is. But by and large it is a vast wasteland and the greatest waste is causes is that it does to us.

Let's observe what a trojan horse is liking to a virus we are all familiar with concerning computers and what is going on in this reality, this pseudo/matrix we think is reality. Here is an excerpt from a link I found:

"The most important difference between a trojan virus/trojan horse and a virus is that trojans don't spread themselves. Trojan horses disguise themselves as valuable and useful software available for download on the internet. Most people are fooled by this ploy and end up downloading the virus disguised as some other application. The name comes from the mythical "Trojan Horse" that the Ancient Greeks set upon the city of Troy.

A trojan horse is typically separated into two parts - a server and a client. It's the client that is cleverly disguised as significant software and positioned in peer-to-peer file sharing networks, or unauthorized download websites. Once the client Trojan executes on your computer, the attacker, i.e. the person running the server, has a high level of control over your computer, which can lead to destructive effects depending on the attacker's purpose.

A trojan horse virus can spread in a number of ways. The most common means of infection is through email attachments. The developer of the virus usually uses various spamming techniques in order to distribute the virus to unsuspecting users. Another method used by malware developers to spread their trojan horse viruses is via chat software such as Yahoo Messenger and Skype. Another method used by this virus in order to infect other machines is through sending copies of itself to the people in the address book of a user whose computer has already been infected by the virus.

Types of Trojan Horse Viruses

Trojan Horses have developed to a remarkable level of cleverness, which makes each one radically different from each other. For an inclusive understanding, we have classified them into the following:

Remote Access Trojans

Remote Access Trojans are the most frequently available trojans. These give an attacker absolute control over the victim's computers. The attacker can go through the files and access any personal information about the user that may be stored in the files, such as credit card numbers, passwords, and vital financial documents.

Password Sending Trojans

The intention of a Password Sending Trojan is to copy all the cached passwords and look for other passwords as you key them into your computer, and send them to particular email addresses. These actions are performed without the awareness of the users. Passwords for restricted websites, messaging services, FTP services and email services come under direct threat with this kind of trojan.

Key Loggers

Key Loggers type of Trojans logs victims' keystrokes and then send the log files to the attacker. It then searches for passwords or other sensitive data in the log files. Most of the Key Loggers come with two functions, such as online and offline recording. Of course, they can be configured to send the log file to a specific email address on a daily basis.

Destructive Trojans

The only purpose of Destructive Trojans is to destroy and delete files from the victims' computers. They can automatically delete all the core system files of the computer. The destructive trojan could be controlled by the attacker or could be programmed to strike like a logic bomb, starting on a particular day or at specific time.

Denial of Service (DoS) Attack Trojans

The core design intention behind Denial of Service (DoS) Attack Trojan is to produce a lot of internet traffic on the victim's computer or server, to the point that the Internet connection becomes too congested to let anyone visit a website or download something. An additional variation of DoS Trojan is the Mail-Bomb Trojan, whose key plan is to infect as many computers as possible, concurrently attacking numerous email addresses with haphazard subjects and contents that cannot be filtered.

Proxy/Wingate Trojans

Proxy/Wingate Trojans convert the victim's computer into a Proxy/Wingate server. That way, the infected computer is accessible to the entire globe to be used for anonymous access to a variety of unsafe Internet services. The attacker can register domains or access pornographic websites with stolen credit cards or do related illegal activities without being traced.

FTP Trojans

FTP Trojans are possibly the most simple, and are outdated. The only action they perform is, open a port numbered 21 - the port for FTP transfers - and let anyone connect to your computer via FTP protocol. Advance versions are password-protected, so only the attacker can connect to your computer.

Software Detection Killers

Software Detection Killers kill popular antivirus/firewall programs that guard your computer to give the attacker access to the victim's machine.

Note: A Trojan could have any one or a combination of the above mentioned functionalities.

The best way to prevent a Trojan Horse Virus from entering and infecting your computer is to never open email attachments or files that have been sent by unknown senders. However, not all files we can receive are guaranteed to be virus-free. With this, a good way of protecting your PC against malicious programs such as this harmful application is to install and update an antivirus program".

Now it could be said that is what philosophy is....a FIREWALL to keep hell and satan at bay. To rid our world of trojan horses, viruses and cancer and those things that are imposed on us that shouldn't be in order to destroy any livelihood we could have? Hmm?

One very good movie that I particularly liked was one called Wall-E. A computer generated movie by Disney. It didn't receive the acclaim I thought it should just as Avatar didn't. It would have been suicide for those actors who make a living acting out to truly offer an honest opinion. If you note the closing credits and all the people responsible for creating that movie it will astonish you much like James Cameron's Avatar and Titanic. Granted Titanic was not a computer animation but the credits set a record and it most definitely had a truth attached, big time. Just as Avatar, Wall-E did.

Don't get me wrong there are some really good actors out there who don't have to grasp at any movie that comes along. Sadly, there are very few who have the wear with all to do that and there are many will take any roll that is offered to them. Those I call the "Pretty People" and that's about all they have to offer, too. As empty as a donut hole but excellent at following directions. But that's the business, huh?

Movies are a far cry from television and why some of those actors, the really good ones, would never consider the boob tube or anything it has to offer. I could go into much more here as to the difference, but I won't.

Forgive me for not offering a question here but you are more than welcome to offer your thoughts

William.

@William,
Well, well, well.

We meet again.

I feel I should tell you, first off, that I put no water into realistic notions of Satan. Metaphorically, I understand your entire post. But, if you actually believe in a real Satan in a real place somewhere pullin' some strings, I can't follow you that far Wink.

But, I digress. I enjoyed your word games, and I share some core criticisms of television. I admit, though, I was never quite as addicted as anyone else. I would say I am addicted to the internet more-so than television. I feel it is a mostly healthy one, though, as it is usually spent communicating with important people, and mostly, autodidacticism. But regardless, I had learned the addiction while overclocking too much, building computers, and playing video games through my adolescence. Most of my free time, 85%, was spent alone working on or using a computer.

But most of my peers, and even my parents, used TV to entertain themselves - a computer was a mere calculator with a mouse to them. So, my dad is now a Fox News parrot, on any issue, as he has watched it now for 10 years. My mom has watched movies or TV until she falls asleep every single day I can remember knowing her. That's insane.

My friends, they only can relate anything, or bring up anything, if it is TV. That is their only real view of the world outside their face-to-face one. It is for most everybody else, as well. People have fallen into a trap that the market does provide when it comes to information, you have cable news. CNN if you're liberal, FOX News if you're righty tighty. Simple. A little too simple, I think, but does a fish know it's in water?

I am a hypocrite to some extent, for sure, as I watch Star Trek TNG (nerd) often on YouTube, it was a TV show. I also liked Top Gear. And I have watched Sex and the City, even, with the girlfriend. The things we do for love Wink.

But none of these problems exist in a vacuum. TV has certain external factors of society working towards its favor, more-so than the ones that are working against it. Humans are good at pointing out faults, like we are now, complaining about profit driven, advertiser based information through TV - but I really couldn't tell you how to fix it. I just think we all have to learn the hard way.

@William,
Hello BMC and thank you for your response. Yes I do like some television CSI, Law and Order, Criminal MInds, NCIS and Star Trek (not a Trekkie). Gene Roddenberry was truly a gifted man even if he knew it or not.). I don't observe television like most and why I don't consider it entertainment. It was once. Most who watch television have not seen or are aware of the transitions it has gone though in my life time (61 years), and most of those didn't even notice those transitions. Sad. They were extremely subtle.

I effort to understand the thoughts behind it all and in that respect it will answer questions that have been floating around in my mind. I don't take any of it seriously though for I know what is depicted there is not, by and large what I have personally witnessed in life itself. It tends to make mountains out of mole hills. What is so said about that is sometimes those molehills become mountains and that is why I suggest for those who do not understand that to just stay away from it all together and find something else to do instead. Like spend more one on one time with their children if they do have any. Never let a young child be alone with it under any circumstances.

As far as the computer, I have only been familiar with it for about 10 years. It is the mind laid out for all to see. The good, the bad and the horrifically ugly and obscene.

It is amazing the things people will do behind the anonymity of a key board and a computer screen. Its a dangerous place for the innocent and naive to venture alone.

Too late to do anything about that now. The freedom of speech you know, damn! What a speech! It is nothing like what our forefathers intended when they declared that right. Not even close.

Thanks again for your comments,
William

@William,
Without the television, where would we be? I honestly wonder what the alternate "timeline" would look like if TV, or anything like it, had been invented.

But I have watched it, as has most anyone else, are we just going to have to replace our time with it on the internet in order to actually move away from it, though?

I love the internet, it has molded me as a person in major ways since I was a pre-teen, lol. It is a no holds barred game, but I was naive at the start of my tenure - but somehow ended up morally un-repugnant.

Although, who knows what all my biases are, or what I'd say with a 5 year old on the internet for 8 hours. I imagine back when I started the internet was a much less developed arena.

@William,
This thread is nothing other than superstition. Just look at that acronym, it is ridiculous. At first I thought this was a joke then I realized you were being serious.

Come on think about it. If satan does exist, you really honestly think that he would influence something and only have the creativity to switch the name around? Isn't he suppose to be clever? To make something so obvious as that? Maybe he did it just to get Christians all worked up over nothing. If I were him, I would definitely play a joke like this. "Let's see, oh some guy is trying to come up with a good name for his entertainment academy. Hmm, maybe I can help him out. This will make all those christians lose some sleep."

You honestly make me feel bad. You make me feel ashamed of myself that I am classified as the same species as you, to write that sort of nonsense. You are like a child who hears the story about the boogyman and then you think the boogyman is hunting you down.

It's like the day when you become a super hero and you want to have a secret identy. So you use your real name spelt backwards as if no one would ever figure it out.

"Oh look, it's him! It's El Pmurk!"

Sorry sorry sorry, we were talking about satan, I guess I should have used villan name not a super hero. I wouldn't want to give you the wrong idea, like I consider satan to be a super hero. Just to clear things up, satan isn't a super hero. Should I repeat that one more time for you so you don't get confused?

I guess satan only speaks english because, let's see, what is satan in Japanese? I think it is pronounced maou, but not sure, I'll have to look it up. Anyways I guess the academy for television in Japan is Uoam then right?

@Krumple,
Krumple, you seem to believe everyone thinks as you. Sad! I can assure you THEY don't.

Satan is a word used as a scapegoat to alleviate man of culpability for any wrong he may be guilty of. He even looks like a "horny:devilish:" one with a tail/tale to tell, ha! I can see the resemblance in television, and it is sad so many can't. He's laughing all the way to the bank to boot.

A word created has to have a meaning or it would never have been brought into existence. I was merely pointing out this unique coincidence in the hiding nature of "that Satan" so many believe in like television; as many think what they see there is true and real, when they are not. SATAN AND NATAS are mirror images of each other and if he were to speak, that is exactly how he would speak! In such ways that would seem real but are not to create that fear he is so famous for.

He would make mountains out of molehills in hopes that hey would indeed become mountains for him to scale and rule. Perhaps the mountain and that burning bush was indeed that mirror image he created, not god. Hmmm?

Now this may be a little difficult for you to understand, but you see K, I am one of those who does not think like you. I am so very thankful for that.
