Laughing Well, that was, no doubt, our kitchen wallpaper in the first house my father bought and I bugged my parents for a few years to take it down and do something else. I've never been much for floral papers, but at least it was better than the the airplane wallpaper I had in my bedroom Shocked
This house was in the states, so I'm not sure if that pattern had made it to Canada.
Beth says Hamburger is mistaken, so am I the only one left who has shared this paper with Jes and RP?

Pics in progress; sorry for the darkness.

SouthWest corner (I tried to enhance the photo; in reality the wall isn't this streaky): http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r299/jespah301/WorkInProgress3.jpg

There is paint. It is (mainly) making it onto the walls. I did about 45 mins today, in two stages. More to do, though. But I probably won't do any more today. Going for funky in terms of look.

But wait, there's more. These pics are of completed painting but the pictures, etc. aren't on the walls yet.

The idea was/is -- it's an exercise room and no one lives in there, so it can be kinda funky. I wanted something relatively tranquil but with lots of colors, as the wallpaper we were removing was drabber than drab. Plus the carpet is greenish-tan and so evokes sand. Hence the idea was conceived to make it like an ocean/aquarium. The fish are meant to be a blur. They're supposed to be whipping by so you only see hints of them and not the details (good thing as I can't really paint details).

We have a mirror and a large bulletin board which will cover a lot of sins. I'll show those photos once things are in place, which will probably not happen until at least next weekend.

Cool!

I had an idea of the age of your home from those beautiful windows but the register cover clinched it. Love the register cover.

Looks like it will be calming without being sleep-inducing.

After pictures! I heart after pictures!

The crisp white looks nice against the blue. Fun idea.

Agreed about windows and register cover -- so pretty.

Will you be putting curtains up over the windows again or leaving them exposed?

Thanks!

One curtain, over the bottom windows (2, actually, so they can be opened). Before, the bonnet was covered by this plain ass white curtain that disintegrated in the wash. We have a new curtain rod, just need to buy the curtain pair. I am looking at white with some sort of flower embroidery. A lot more subtle because of everything going on, on the walls. The bulletin board is already up (the big yellow and red schools are up to the left and slightly above it), the register cover is in place and the switch plate is on.

The dressers are used by us for papers and whatnot so I bought name plates for them. Those need to be measured for and lined up, drilled, etc. Plus the mirror has to go back on and various tchotchkes need to return. I have a small shelf to install, too. I'd say it's about 50% done at the done stage, if that makes any sense. I really like how the top part over the arch (entryway) turned out. Less of a splash of color but more fishlike (piscine?). There's also green in the background with the blue; I think it's not showing up as well due to lighting conditions.
