It's as though many of us want all the Abuzz people here, as they always were, on Abuzz.

As with other things in life, too ... <smiles>

I remember his first post here in the "welcome" thread ... the most powerful one-line reflection of sadness I've seen yet ...

I'm still in regular contact with Diva. She can be found at her site, for anyone who is interested:

Debacle is the one I miss. On Abuzz I was Robert Smith. On a2k I couldn't use that name so became bobsmyth. Then when I suddenly could't log under that name I became bobsmythhawk.

I remember seeing you as "Robert Smith" on Abuzz -- it always made me think of the lead singer of The Cure (also named Robert Smith). Wink

Diva's site looks cool! I don't think I really interacted with her that much, but I always think of her when I wonder about the old Abuzzers because of one particular thread I met her on. It was a silly 1980's music thread, but it was the day after I was laid off from my job in the travel industry, 10 days after 9/11. I was hungover and my entire face was swollen from crying (I think a lot of people were in the same condition, at the time). She ended up making me laugh SO hard that I was once again crying, but it was a great dose of medicine -- I think I remember several people on that thread being relieved to finally get a good belly laugh.

Just got an email from Diva:

Quote:
Just read through that thread, thanks for the link. I was glad to hear that Temper is out and about these days. Good on her. She should be really proud of herself.

Was tempted to post, but seriously...I don't think I can handle another online forum at the moment. lol No time, no energy, and all the Abuzzers that I had gotten particularly close to became very close real life personal friends. (Irishblues, Guthobla, kissthecook, jef2k, TsarStepan). And I often barely keep in touch with them as regularly as I should! lol That said, TsarStepan gets lots of attention from me these days. How could he not? He's a permanent resident of the Diva Den now....he's my ROOMMATE! And sometimes I think we keep in touch TOO bloody much. lolol

Naw....in all seriousness, he's a great roomie. I haven't tried to kill him in his sleep yet. I mean, I've thought about it and stuff, but I've not ever come to the point where I've felt the need to form any solid plans & strategies. ;-)

Ah...and I used to keep in really close contact with Count Fathom for awhile there via email, phone, Napster, etc. too. He introduced me to file-sharing, and I owe a lot of the new music genres I'm into these days to him (and about 1/3 of my music collection. lol) He used to recommend philosophy books and stuff to me, too...but I used to fall asleep reading them, and sold them all on Ebay. LOLOL Never met him, though I came fairly close to doing so. I lost touch with him once he moved his crazy arse existence to the other side of the country.

I tried to keep in touch with a lot of other people via email, but I'm the worst when it comes to returning emails. lol I often take a whole month to return phone calls let alone emails. lolol

That said, if anybody wants to email me, I'd promise to do my best not to suck so bad at replying. lol

Hmmm...now that I'm thinking of it, I suppose you could post this email in the thread if you want to? Up to you now that I've somehow wound up waxing sentimental. LOL

Anyway, tell everybody I said "hi." :-)

She also said (in a separate email):

Quote:
Please tell LibertyD that I said "hello" and that I'm really glad I could make her smile when she needed it most. Hearing that I was able to do so has made my whole day...and now I'm smiling when I needed it most. Favour returned indeed. :-)
