If I had the political power to do it,
here 's what I 'd do to drasticly reduce criminal violence:
1 ) BANISH and remove recidivists of criminal violence
from the North American Continent,
after identifying them by DNA, retinal scans, n fingerprints, inter alia,
admonishing them that sneaking back into America
is prohibited on pain of death.
2 ) Repeal all gun control laws
( thus re-establishing the status quo ante until the early 20th Century ),
except those gun control laws requiring
the citizens to be armed at all times,
in the spirit of the compulsory seatbelt laws.
Public schools 'd be required to teach children
classes in safe and accurate use of firearms,
in the spirit of the US Director of Civilian Marksmanship program, around the First World War.
3 ) Repeal all laws that prohibit any American from ingesting
whatever he dam pleases.
This wud drop the financial bottom out of the present
illegal drug market, thereby removing all financial incentive
from drug lords to propagate their wares
( as it was, until the early 1900s ).
Most violent crime results from the desperation
of addicts who need to pay artificially high prices
because narcotics have been OUTLAWED,
thus those addicts employ violence to coerce
unsuspecting citizens to pay those prices for them.
When government has disarmed the future victims
of this predatory violence,
crime is thereby facilitated by making it easier
and less dangerous for the criminal predator,
hence, encouraging his criminal career.

Remove how? Kill them or just send them to Europe?
Liberal gun laws never saved anyone, America has very
liberal gun control laws compared to a lot of western
countrys, they also have a lot more gun-related murders.

Right. And where would you send 'em to? Who would take 'em?
1. Lock every American, except David, in a padded cell, wearing a straight jacket. Beat them if anyone sneezes. Shoot any that whine or snarl, or sniffle.

I can't think of a single thing except a ad hominem insult. Therefore I will refrain from comment since this has all been discussed before.

First you arm all citizens and require them to carry guns, then you try to arrest some of those armed citizens and banish them.
Yeah, that should reduce gun crimes.

Hey David:
Things in England are good- though our beautiful, dry, sunny, summerlike weather of April turned into the wettest May they've had apparently in quite a while. And June weather has been pretty indecisive so far, each day can't quite decide how it's going to be- so there's no telling what the predominant weather will turn out to be.
Anyway, I'll be here another six weeks to the end of July-working right to the end- no summer vacations where I work- then two weeks in Greece, and then back to the US for good mid August- upstate NY-I'll let you know when we get there and then maybe I can meet you at that restaurant with the Aaron Burr connection you told me about and we can compare American to British beef Wellington.

Do you really think arming ALL citizens would mean no one would ever commit a crime after the citizens were armed? Either you expect no crimes or you expect no response to crime once you have armed everyone. I didn't think you would be that delusional but I have been wrong before.

to end crime you will need to end poverty, So one could say crime will never be extinguished.
