@ossobuco,
The blackberries are really good if you get them nice and dark...But I guess the patches for strawberries were bad around here....Cause no matter how long you let them go...They were always bitter...much bitter than normal strawberries are...I guess it probably takes a lot of care to keep them nicely controlled and maintained while growing them...and wild is just not good enough....and blackberries can grow under much more extreme conditions....Or something...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I grew strawberries in LA (Venice, by the coast), and they were tasty but I was put off by little black worms. In Humboldt County up north, by the coast again, blackberries were all over the place, thrived. Now I live in new mexico and see fruit as expensive in the market.

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
To do grits right, you should have 2 fried eggs with runny yolks as sides, along with a few strips of bacon or sausage. Smile I'd suggest cathead biscuits, but nobody knows how to make them right anymore, but toast works, too.

@FBM,
Runny eggs do sound like it would be good with that...Now how do you eat your grits? Do you add honey or brown sugar or anything? Like an oatmeal?

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
No way. Butter (margarine) salt and pepper is all. Well, occasionally I melt some cheese in. Nothing sweet. Ugg.

@FBM,
Yeah, see, that is what I thought too mate...But it did have a cream of wheat taste to it...I had it with some salt and pepper and some hot sauce too...But the person at the restaurant said that some use honey or brown sugar, and some use butter and such...And I could see why people may eat it either way...But I would like the salt, pepper, and hot sauce myself...Cheese would def. be good...What kind of cheese?

And I did the hot sauce, because I love all kinds of foods that are not sweet ridiculously spicy....

I have eaten a red savina habanero before...few times...But I won't ever do a hybrid genetic mixed ghost chili...I won't ever do a Naga jolokia...screw that...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I'd recommend extra sharp cheddar cheese or edam with jalapenos. I'd avoid the really aromatic varieties with grits.

@FBM,
I like grits with a little butter, cheese, and hot sauce.
But I like most foods with those.

@ossobuco,
The best hot sauce I have ever tried is a brand named Cholula (TM) I think it is better than Tobasco (TM)...Texas Pete (TM) Frank's Red Hot (TM) etc...all of them...Louisiana Hot Sauce (TM) is pretty good too...

(Brands...)

1. Cholula

2. Tobasco

3. LHS

4. Texas Pete

5. Red Hot...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
Sorry to hear you didn't feel well enough to go to the party.

Hopefully the ziti was tasty when you had it.

~~~~~~
there was just a little bit left of the corn crab chowder I made on Sunday. I dumped in a can of smoky bacon clam chowder and a big slosh of low-sodium chicken broth. The result is a tasty enough soup/chowder, but my original soup was better.
