Is that font in German?

The text is English, and it's the German font "Sütterlin (wiki-link)"

Thanks, I didn't know there was a German font. It just looked like the way my mom writes- she is German btw.

That's a sign, Kicky. I'm not sure of what, but one you shouldn't ignore.

Here's Trebuchet MS, which Craven mentioned - I like it for its sharpness, contrasting to the tahoma above...

Yeah, Trebuchet is cool too (only now read the whole thread).

Our press releases are in Times New Roman, but our website is in a sans serif. Arial, I think.

In our publications, we use Garamond, I think, for the title on the cover.

I like the x-height on the lower case letters. And the lowercase g seals it....

I'm an Ariel girl too. I also like Lucinda Sans.

The only serifed (is that a word?) font I like at all is Courier (T1). I like the spacing between the letters -- that seems to make it easier to read.

Depends on whether we're talking web or print.

For print, I do a lot of format design. I keep coming back to a combination of Minion (serif) and Myriad (sanserif). They work very well together. The very slightly compressed look of the Minion is very workable. Both fonts come in a wide variety of weights, and the italic versions are extremely readable.

Those look nice, Eva.

Completely off-topic, I find myself in unexpected disagreement with no less than two of the sig lines on this page.

Eva's - "If you cant be kind, at least have the decency to be vague" - thats just about the opposite of what my moral would be.

Well, it depends I guess. If you're a complete stranger, probably, yeah. But for friends, family, (close) colleagues, I'd disagree.

And MsOlga's - "I never, ever met a racist who was nice" - the guy should come to The Hague Smile . Or a working class Amsterdam neighbourhood. Lotsa people with a heart of gold, who just cant stand them furriners.

My grandma's brother - he's the nicest guy. And when push came to shove, he helped his Chinese neighbours get papers they needed, everything. But dont get him started on immigrants, muslims, foreigners in general - he's awful, awful.

OK, that as random digression..

I know what you mean, nimh. Have met many rough diamonds with hearts of gold, etc, who also possess a few stubborn "blind spots".

That particular quote was from this nuggety old codger who runs a very popular gardening program on the (Oz) ABC. Actually, I'd thought he was a rather boring old fart till till I heard a radio interview with him, celebrating his 80th birthday. What a surprise! I found out he was a committed old leftie, had run for parliament in Tasmania (for the Communist Party, mind! Surprised ) & had a really intriguing life history. That comment was right in character & made me smile. People are not always what they seem to be on the surface!
