i just started learning real calligraphy after 7 years of doing graffiti and graffiti influenced art. What basic things should i know before start, i dont want to get it wrong from the very beginning.

If anyone knows a calligraphy website or a book that is a defnite must-have, feel free to let me know.( or if a site on the history of calligraphy would be nice too)

it can be asian or western styles.

I have an old book entitled "Lettering Tips for artists, graphic designers
and calligraphers" by Bill Gray which is very good.

The most basic tip is to keep your pen nib at a consistent angle, about
30 degrees, and to also to make the spacing ( between letters, words
and lines) look consistent and equal.
