Beats me C.I.! But the word ALABAMA has got to be a giant clue.

(I know I'm being really annoying today! Laughing)

fealola, As I said before, it's really difficult for people who have visited this site to recognize it. As a matter of fact, most Americans probably would 'never' visit this place, because it's sort of on the bottom rung of places to visit in Europe. You are not annoying at all. I'm kind of amused at your persistence. The Hague has somewhat of a similar mandate as this other place in the photo. Wink c.i.

Well, I'm thinking that the word Alabama has something to do with some sort of war memorial to WWII Americans KIA . Oh well, I like a mystery-- perhaps you were hoping for more sophisticated travelers to look in! Very Happy The fact that most Americans would never go there is intriguing! I know I've never been there because I've never been to Europe! Embarrassed

Yes, I had the opportunity to visit India and Nepal in December 2001, and flew to Mt Everest from Kathmandu. It was a perfect day for picture taking of Mt Everest. Wink c.i.

I am totally confused, and refuse to look up the Alabama ref, will wait to learn. I think I know that it is a memorial, but no idea where. A certain rustication of the facade, but not of the old sort...

fealola gave the answer, but too many hints were given. It's Geneva; where the Geneva Convention was signed. On the outside it says "HOTEL," so I asked the tour guide why they changed it to a hotel, and she said "hotel" doesn't mean hotel in the English sense. c.i.
