To each his own I guess. I find the current fad for facial (and other, more "private") jewelry sorta grotesque. I will freely admit to having a couple tatoos, but I'll guarantee ya, I'll never be that young, drunk, and macho again Mr. Green

If I could surgically alter myself, I would want a head that turned 360 degrees like an owl's head, if only to freak out people who talked behind me at the movies. Hmm....since X-men came up, adamantium claws would be cool....yep, Wolverine's claws and an owl head. That would rock.

I don't like wearing wristwatches because my wrist is too bony.
I'd like to have a small clock embedded under my thumbnail though.

Then I could put my thumb up against the sun and say "Hmm, seems like it's about 3:27pm".

Or maybe an "mp3 player/cellphone/digital camera/calculator/wireless web-browser" embedded into my left palm. Next-generation Palm Pilot, for people who really want to read their palms.

I personally wouldn't change anything, I'm to sure that I'm the new messiah and I don't want to mess with my chances of fulfilling the prophecy.

Other people do whatever, I would be an idiot to judge what they do.

If you don't believe me about the messiah thing... Well neither did the Romans.

What about supernatural glowing/sparkliness? That might help dazzle the flock.

If I were able to alter a part of my body, I would probably go for perfect vision....(I'm only 16, and I can't see much without contacts). And I wouldn't mind a few extra cool things like being able to "close" my ears and nose!

There was a programme on about a year ago about people who had their bodies extremely modified to resemble animals that they admired. (most were in America!)

There were people who had their faces altered to resemble cats, were tattooed with 'fur' patterns and had false whiskers implanted through holes in their faces, Shocked

A man lives wild on one of the Scottish islands wearing just a loin cloth and tattooed all over in a leopardskin pattern - he apparently goes into the pub occasionally and they just accept him.

I suppose that he would want to lap his drink out of a bowl, if he wanted to stay in character...

Hmmmm .... I wonder if he marks his territory in character. Doubt I'd invite him over to see my new carpets and furniture.

Cheese! We used to drive there from Mpls for cheese and dogwalking. But that's not how it's spelled, and now I'm blanking on how it IS spelled, and so I can't get any links for ya. Help, timber! (Menominee?)

'Patiododog, Not much to see around there, other than some neat old farms, lots of forrest, and there's a casino nearby in Kesheena ... http://www.menomineecasinoresort.com/main.html

Oh, yeah, ind its spelled M E N O M I N E E. Its the name of an Indian tribe which once inhabited the area.

Is there an extra "No" in there?

I looked on Yahoo maps and realized I was thinking of Minong, not Menominee. (Been too long since I lived in WI -- know both NAMES, but got 'em mixed up.)

I'm about half an hour Southwest from Minong. Menominee is quite a bit further, and Southeast of me ... it'd be a bit much for a daytrip.
