One of the jewels of West Central Florida is the John and Mable Ringling Museum. Ringling was the guy who founded the circus. He was self taught, and a prodigious art collector. His estate is on the water in Sarasota, which coincidentially the winter home of the circus.
The Museum has a number of sections. In the art museum, there are wonderful paintings by Reubens, and other masters of the Renaissance.
The Circus Museum contains all the memorabilia of a bygone age.
His mansion, which sits right on the water, has just been restored. A docent will take visitors on a tour of the house, which lasts almost an hour.
The grounds are beautiful, and there are many exotic trees.
I have been there a number of times, including yesterday. A couple of years ago, I saw a flock of monk parakeets that have taken residence in the area.

We vacation every December at Anna Maria and we drive by the Ringling Place about six times. Next time we visit, thanks!
