Can any one tell me if using Picasa 2 to reduce redeye or improve the appearance of a picture etc, weakens the quality of the original digital photo. I,ve been told that using Picasa 2 seriously reduces the pixels that makes up the shot, is this true?

The only thing that will reduce the quality of the resolution is if you should save the image in a lesser quality resolution. There's nothing inherent in the process of doing red-eye reduction in any graphics program that will cause that to happen.
