Didn't you say the Cubs were going all the way this year? So, um, how's that workin' out for ya?

yemporarily is an extremely short period of time that causes one to fret and agonize -- often with cold, clammy hands...

The Diceman Winneth Exclamation

http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/10/21/1193014706_1392-3.jpg

the world series is back in fenway for the 2nd time in 4 years!

dice was good in getting the W (5 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, no walks, 3 K's), but the bullpen was great -- okajima + papelbon pitched a combined 4 shut-out innings.
pap got his first ever 2-inning save.

the offense has been lights-out the past 3 games when it really mattered, outscoring cleveland 30-5.
whoodathunk they could win a game 7 11-2 with big papi going 0-5??
pedroia (3-5, HR, 2B, 5 rbi)and youk (3-5, HR, 2B, were both locked in at the top of the order.
everyone else had at least one timely hit and/or ribbie.

ellsbury played great D in center, then moved over for coco in the 9th.
the game ended on an incredible catch by coco, who started out in left-center and caught blake's drive in the triangle in full stride.

i have to get up in less than 4 hours, so that's all for now...

Daniel-san Matsuka looked sharp for the first 3, then had his typical 4th. Definitely an improvement over the last couple games he's pitched.

I was pretty shocked at Pedroia's home run. Not that he hit it, but for a little dude, that was a bomb.

i didn't realize (until i read it this morning) that we never trailed after losing game 4.

youk tied the LCD record with 14 hits (he was 14 for 28).

Your boys got ski clothes, do they?
Looks like a good chance for typical October Denver weather. (See Broncos.)

It's unseasonably warm here -- I'm sitting here in shorts and a tank top and Halloween is a little over a week away. It's freaky.

The Rockies have been idle for so long that this afternoon they had to start working on the fundamentals of the game.

A player was heard to ask "Coach, is it three strikes or four and you're out?"

OK, for the record.
Not really a Rockie fan. A Royal fan.
(Please get it all out now, I was born that way)
For the fun of it, however, I will take up for the big bats in Denver and play the foil to all you Bostonians, real or imagined. Been to a few games, and they can slug with the best of them.

Rockies in 7.
