Has anyone else heard about "America at a Crossroads," a PBS series of 11 independently produced documentaries?
I read an article about the series a while back, but recently have done some more digging and judging from the
video clips I have seen and the
series website, this looks like must watch TV. The first documentary premiers on April 15th and the rest are on the following nights through April 20th.
Here is the general background on the series,
Quote:America at a Crossroads is a major public television event premiering on PBS in April 2007 that explores the challenges confronting the post-9/11 world ?- including the war on terrorism; the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan; the experience of American troops serving abroad; the struggle for balance within the Muslim world; and global perspectives on America's role overseas.
This documentary, "Operation Homecoming" seems particularly interesting as it uses firsthand accounts (poems, journals, letters, etc.) from our servicemen and women to describe what it is like on the ground every day in Iraq and Afghanistan. Just take a look at this
clip .
