I've channeled surfed past this show on several occassions.

a couple of time tried to watch to see what all the hub-bub was all about.

I'm sure I never made it past 10 seconds.

I just don't get it....isn't it just like an updated Ted Mack Amateur Hour?

I've never watched it either but I might vote for the worst. I think that is a screamingly funny idea seeing that these people end up with huge contracts and tour and become "famous".

The whole idea of a singing contest is way out of time.

Pop stardom really isn't about having a good voice and having someone give you a song and you sing it as best you can. For a long time, it has been about singing within a certain style, and if you have a few vocal limitations, they can be worked around.

Outside of Whitney Houston, how many stars would do well on American Idol?
