For the "H2o Man,
I have read many of your informational posts/replies. I am hoping that you can help me with an issue I am having with my Rainsoft Gold Series water softener. I had the service guy out about 1 month ago because I was having an issue with the brine tank filling with water after it regenerates. They came out and performed some tests?, reset hardness to "17", reset float to proper setting, and ran through 3 mini cylces then stated everything was is good working order. I awoke this morning to find I am having the same issue with the system. Now this company (Titan Marketing, Lansing, Mi) is telling that they do not provide service in my area anymore. Rainsoft/another dealer told me there is another dealer opening in the Grand Rapids, Mi area in the next month or so but I do not want to wait that long. I am still trying to get Titan Marking out to perform another inspection but was wondering if you had any ideas. Thanks again for you assistance.
It sounds like Titan Marketing is in over their heads.
This is not your fault and it is not your problem.
I suggest you contact
RainSoft customer service online and follow up with a phone call to the same 1-800-860-7638
Demand that the factory send a factory service tech to your home ASAP.
I hope this helps and please keep us updated with results.
Thanks H2O,
I really appreciate you reply. Originally when I had called they stated it sounded like there was a bad "valve" on the unit. But after reading the final invoice after paying $120.00 I had saw that there was no valve replaced. Do you have an idea of what may be occuring with my system? Thanks again for your patience.

I would look at the the brine controls first. Connections and seals on the valve side need to be checked and the flow restrictor needs to be clean.
The connection on the brine tank side needs to be checked and the float needs to be set.
I would also confirm the computer settings and function.
The primary causes of too much water in the brine tank are; loose brine line connections allowing the unit to suck air instead of heavy brine water and then the control adding the water it was supposed to have used back into the tank. A kinked drian line. A blocked injector, injector thraot or injector screen.
Go to fleckcontrols.com and register and find and download a 5600 service manual, it will show you where those parts are and you can check them yourself instead of probably having to pay for service.

Keep in mind the RainSoft valve is a bastardized version of the 5600
and it will not look like the exploded view shown in the Fleck PDF.
A kinked drain would contribute to your issue, but also cause additional problems - it's worth a look though.
The injector and such will be very close if not the same.
