Gotta love YouTube.... but that's a long time to watch a small screen, Jane.
I remember being shocked by the Eye of the Beholder back when my sister and I would watch The Twilight Zone after school. They gave me the creeps but I couldn't stand not to watch them, either.

I don't remember the Agnes Moorehead episode, but it sounds interesting and I've always admired her, so I've added yet another Twililght Zone to my NetFlix Queue. It is listed on The Twilight Zone: Vol. 1 (1962).

I will look for that one, CowDog.

The other one I remember vividly is the women who was in the hospital
all bandaged up. She had numerous facial surgeries and was hoping
that this time the surgeons succeeded in giving her a "new" more appealing
face.

One never saw the doctors or nurses faces, heard just their voices. The suspense built up and when she finally got her bandages removed, a beautiful face emerged, but she was crying as the operation wasn't successful yet again.

Then the camera swayed up to the faces of doctors and nurses and they
all had terribly distorted ugly faces.

Ah I remember that one now that you describe it - that was a great one!

Yes, Piffka, it is the entire episode and too long for the small screen, but
if someone hadn't seen it, it's still captivating.

In Germany the show aired on Saturday nights (when I was allowed to
stay up longer) and I would see it together with my father who loved it -
so it's also a bit sentimental for me watching re-runs.

Linkat, on the previous page I posted a link to this particular episode,
if you care to watch it again Wink

Two of the most memorable TZ episodes that come to mind are (1) the old woman who won't open her apartment door because she's convinced Death is coming for her. A young policeman (Robert Redford) tries to get her to open the door through the show to help her (that's roughly it). The other, which I get teary about just thinking about, was a man who was going down a road with his dog to enter heaven, but the place wouldn't let the dog come in with him.

As someone might still see these, I'll leave the spoilers out (not that they're difficult to figure out).

Hm, I vaguely remember the lady in the apartment, but the man walking
down the street with his dog, I can't remember, or probably never saw it.

So it will go on my "to have" list, thanks bermits Smile

CJ, when you click on the vido, or on the button in the bottom on the right, it expands on the whole screen.

We did the Twilight Zone in my theatre! Here's a snippet from the play taken by our very own littlek.

We did Eye of the Beholder, Living doll, and Invaders - all are on YouTube, as is the entire movie, in multiple parts, of course. YouTube rocks.

It was actually a country road in a very rural setting.

Doing a quick check revealed it was called "The Hunt." The man was out hunting raccoons with his dog.

I also saw The Howling Man" listed - another classic about a religious order that said they had the Devil in a room. Whew!

Spoiler Alert!

I found a nice summary of the dog story here:

For anyone who wants to "re-live" it...

These are great, dag. Were you one of the nurses?

I didn't know about the enlargement of the screen Embarrassed

bermits, thanks for the link. I don't mind the spoilers. The Twilight Zone
is something one can see over and over again - Cult status practically.

Yep.

There's also one set at a concentration camp, it wasn't too terribly long after the end of WWII and it must have been quite a jolt to see it on TV.

Since things have quieted down on this thread, does anyone remember "Alcoa Presents One Step Beyond"? There were a few episodes that really creeped me out! Some info can be found at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052442/

Shocked
