@izzythepush,
The Championship has plenty of talent if you allow that runners coming in 500th or lower in the GNR have plenty of talent.

The margins are very fine.

@spendius,
I don't think so, Lambert shows that hard work and determination makes up for a lot.

When did Rooney last score for England?

@izzythepush,
I don't know but it is very unlikely that Hodgson will look into the Championship to find a replacement.

@spendius,
There's a lot more English players than the Premiership.

@izzythepush,
Hodgson knows that. He will have his scouts out. So will the Prem clubs. Not just the English clubs.

@spendius,
What's Murdoch up to with this supposed live coverage for 24 hours of Nottingham's A&E department? All I have seen so far are posed video shoots with subtle and not so subtle declarations of underfunding.

@spendius,
People love to gawp at misery. It's the same instinct that makes people stare at car crashes, and it's cheap.

I've been on holiday. Have you missed me?

No, didn't think so. Manchester weather is not so good as that in southern Spain, today at least.

@McTag,

I still am not re-acclimatised to the Manchester weather.

I see the Police want to collect drunks and binge-drinkers off the streets and put them in a cooler; privately-run, for profit.
What images does that conjure up? Dog wardens, dog pound?

Although some of our young people do drink a little more than is good for them. And many of our streets do not present a pretty scene in the wee small hours. And hospital A & E wards are like The Somme on a Friday night, in many places.

Maybe muslim vigilantes are the answer.

@McTag,
Mac--if Scotland votes for independence which nationality will you choose?

@spendius,
I really hope they do, I'm sick of them.

How do you know when a plane lands in Heathrow from Scotland?

Half an hour after the engines have been turned off it's still grumbling.

What a dreadful thing to say.

Still, who was it who said "It is seldom difficult to tell the difference between a Scotsman with a grievance and a ray of sunshine."?

The Scots have historically been outward-looking, internationalist and broadly socialist in their makeup.
"We're a' Jock Tamson's bairns" is a Scottish saying which alludes to this.

No independence, it's a silly notion, and one which a big majority of Scots are against.

which nationality will you choose?

That's to be a choice? What will the "nation" of English, Welsh and NIish be called? Lesser Britain?

@McTag,
I think there will be a No vote as well. I think Mr Salmond fancies himself as a Garrick.

The rest, if the vote is Yes, will remain British. After an unspecified period, some say 10 years, of the unscrambling process. (Good luck with that).

But if it does come to that you will be a "wog". The wogs begin where Watling Street road ends. Hadrian's Wall to about Caterbury. Your passport is a United Kingdom ID.

But "Independence" exerts a powerful pull on the emotions.

Not sick of ordinary Scots like you Tag, but I am sick of the type that constantly moan about how hard done by they all are.
