Don't really want to bump, so I'll post without reading what's on the other side.

To all intents and purposes, it's a three horse race, Wigan, Sunderland and Villa. Saints and The Toon, (and Norwich, but who gives a monkeys about Norwich,) are all safe.

@izzythepush,
I bumped!!! Cool The only way I could see what you'd posted!!!

It was a huge relief when the final whistle blew - no goalie for the last ten minutes or so was a nail-biting finish! But we are safe... at least for another season, not sure if we deserved it though! Sorry about Sunderland - I do want them to stay up too.

@izzythepush,
I don't know much about Southampton as a team. I thought they were safe, barring something going very much askew next week?

@vonny,
The bookies are offering 33-1 against Wigan surviving.

@vonny,
We are safe now, unless we lose by something like 13-0 next match.

@izzythepush,
Oh well, that's great! Now I have one more team to worry about ... bad enough being concerned about Newcastle and worrying about Sunderland, now I have Southampton to think about! Laughing Good that your team are safe though!

I see Huhne and Pryce have been let out, after just eight weeks.

@izzythepush,
From Channel4 news
Quote:
Both will have to wear electronic tags as a condition of their early release, about a quarter of the way through their sentences. Their early release - the pair spent just 62 days incarcerated - is not unusual: for sentences under a year, prisoners are automatically released after serving half of their sentences.

Pryce now also intends to write a book about the economics of the prison system, combining her professional expertise with her inside track on life behind bars. Reports suggested that Huhne planned to work on the rehabilitation of prisoners.

If I was him with his money I would be on a plane to somewhere nice sticking up two fingers to the country at the top of the steps.

@spendius,
It's terrible isn't it that someone should be punished for breaking the law, especially when they're so rich?

What country do you suggest Huhne should go to? How about Bahrain? Rich people get away with all sorts there.

@McTag,
They've had it Tags. It's a rugby town. Most of them think football is for pansies. Hence the swathes of empty seats at home matches and not taking their full allocation of tickets for away matches.

The authorities don't want sides like Newcastle to go down and Wigan to stay up.

@izzythepush,
Not Bahrain. Buying an English pub in Tenerife might do. Or just a villa.
